Hiller gets the first star in a 1-0 win by the Devils.

Truthfully, I miss it. I miss the grit, the determination required for goals back then. The fighting for every inch of ice.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss some of it as well. It's hilarious the varying opinions you hear on this.

"Love the game today. no more clutching and grabbing. Fast skilled teams are able to take over games."

"The game today blows. The NHL has become so pansified after the lockout. Can't hit anyone with out a fight."

"The game used to be better. Players used to show respect for eachother. Now everyone's just head hunting and the instigator rule blowwwws."

"I hate the game today. The rivalries just aren't there like they used to be. The playoffs don't have the same feeling anymore. Buttman's new NHL suuuux."

"Can't get any better than the new NHL. You can't slow teams down through the neutral zone which used to allow less talented teams to level the playing field. Goalies can't come way out to play the puck. More skating and room for the skilled players to operate."

At any rate, Let's go devils! Get a nice home winning streak going...

I still can't believe our list of injuries. And Elias has returned, or else it would be longer. Madness.

I would have put up a video of a fight between the two teams, like I usually do, but I couldn't find any that weren't from like 1996 and featuring Randy McKay. So instead I put up the 2003 Cup winning goal.

Momma Neids does not root, she just stares at the ice in hopes that it melts before her sons have to run into each other. Trust me, I've stared into the eyes of death and I still shiver at night when my head hits the pillow!
