Game Day: Wednesday, November 11th 2009.
Game Time: 5:00 PM.
Radio: 630 Ched.
TV: TSN.
Stream: channelsurfing.net Or you can try this one
Location: Buffalo.

Linesmen: Scott Cherrey (50), Brad Kovachik (71)
SCORE: 3-1 Sabres

Roster Updates EDMONTON:
Shawn Horcoff (Shoulder), Sheldon Souray (Concussion), Marc Pouliot (Sports Hernia), Ryan Stone (Knee) are all out for sure. JF Jacques (Back) and Ales Hemsky (Shoulder), Robert Nilsson (Concussion), and Taylor Chorney (Ankle) are listed as day-to-day.

BUFFALO:

LineupsEDMONTON:
These lines are speculation based on Tuesdays game. **According to Tencer, Hemsky will be a game time decision. Khabi starts tonight. No other changes to the lineup**

Penner-Gagner-O'Sullivan
Comrie-Brule-Hemsky
Moreau-Cogliano-Stortini
Pisani-Potulny-Reddox

Grebeshkov-Staios
Smid-Visnovsky
Strudwick-Gilbert

Khabi
JDD

BUFFALO:
Vanek-Connolly/Roy-Stafford
MacArthur-Connolly/Roy-Pominville
Hecht-Kennedy-Grier
Ellis-Gaustad-Kaleta

Butler-Rivet
Tallinder-Myers
Sekera-Montador

Miller
Enroth

Who to watch?OILERS TO WATCH: I'll go with the line of Comrie, Brule, and O'Marra since they should be the freshest. I'm not sure why they played so little, but hopefully that means they have a bit extra gas. Obviously with this being the 2nd game of a back to back, we'll probably be relying on Khabi even moreso than we have in past games. He will basically need to, once again, stand on his head to give us a chance tonight.

SABRES TO WATCH: Derek Roy is on a little scoring streak right now, scoring in the last 3 games. Tim Connolly is off to a solid start with 13 points (4 goals, 9 assists) in 14 games as well.

Keys to the Game Get the early goal, and get outshot ...recipe for success? Both teams are going to be extremely hungry, the difference is one is well rested and hungry. Buffalo enters tonights game with back-to-back losses and three in its last four. Will we be the slump busters once again? Or will the favour finally be returned?

The second period is going to be a nail bitter I think. Not only is that the period in which we allow the most shots against and goals, it is also the period Buffalo shoots the most in.

The first is our good period, we will need to come out and score enough to have the lead going into the 3rd. The Oilers are 2nd in the league in 1st period goals with 21. When the Oilers lead after one period they have not lost in regulation (4-0-2) and are 5-0-1 when leading after two.

Special teams will also be huge tonight. On the road we have the 3rd best PP and 8th best PK. Those will be facing the 7th best home PP and 14th best PK. Both teams have allowed 2 short handed goals and have yet to score a shorty of their own.

Words of Wisdom"It was probably our best three periods in a long time, and we maybe (could have) had a better result, but we didn't and the shootout we couldn't score. We were a little better in Colorado than we have been and this was a better effort and hopefully that will continue."--Pat Quinn

Buffalo plays a similar system to us, so I think execution is going to play a big factor in this. Buffalo's got the upper hand in experience, so we're probably going to need a big game from special teams.

4-3 Oilers

2 PPG for Smid
The rest
meh

Key in on Tyler Myers from the Sabres. At 6'8" he's hard to miss! That said, he doesn't move like he's 6'8". This kid is going to be a stud for many, many years.

Hopefully we can give Buffalo some of what they gave us last year.

That kid is a bit of a revelation, he came out of nowhere (at least for me). Vanek is struggling so I'm hoping he doesn't break it open on us. The team played well against Ottawa, given how many regulars are down and out. Let's hope Rin's GDT carries the day again.

2-1, Horcoff and Gilbert with the goals.

No pressure Rin! Lose this one, and some form on punishment must be given out. The Hockey gods were mad at you, and bad thing happened. This is a must win from your perspective! No pressure!

I just hope Oilers play like they did against the Senators, they'll do fine if they do.

Myers is crazy good, he'll be a mainstay in their D for a long time. Great pick by them(in our position).

Hopefully Penner plays lights out again.

I've got a .500 record, here's to jumping that! Also, Horcoff is out still

No pressure at all...Cloned will just put me on waivers. Nobody will pick me up, due to the record...and I'll get to stay right here!

I think at this point it might be easier to list the players who aren't injured. Why are we so snake-bitten?

I think Penner is gonna have another big game tmr.

2 goals 1 assist. Serious Double Pennertration!

Oil win 3-2

Penner 2, Gagner 1, Khabby with 32 saves.

Book it.

Eh, people can do alot worse than a 0.500 record. Maybe Isles put in a claim? After Law, they seem thin.

Whatever gets you out of here if you lose.

Lack of Cowbell? Virgin Sacrifices? Mullet? That Oates song? The Jonas Brothers?

I'll be worse than .500 if we lose, I will also take the blame for the sens loss to further turn off other teams.

The braintrust will get you out of here one way or another, if you lose. So no pressure.

Sabres are a good team, playing at home, rested, and with one of the best GA in the league. We're playing second of a backtoback

Just the way I see it going down.

Interesting to see which two come out... I'd guess O'marra and maybe Comrie if he is indeed not 100%

I know. I'm just bugging you.

Everything points to them winning but if Khabby can let in 2 or less, we have a chance.
