Lemme temper the optimisim. Souray is just skating with the team like he has been for the past week. Im sure he wont be playing tonight.

Hemsky however, is a gametime decision says Renney. I guess I was wrong about Horcoff being the most likely!

Since 05-06 we have played BUF three times and posted 0-2-1 record. Ryan Miller can steal a game. I think like mentioned above we definitely need a quick start to get the legs going. Hemsky or Horcoff back in the line up could be a boost but we will see. Hopefully keep up the play that we have had so far on the road trip

I really like Tim Connolly's game...together with Vanek their top line will be a handful for the Oilers tonight.

It's a Showcase Showdown tonight... Gaustad (whom Stauffer speculates the Oilers would have much interest in) centering their 4th line and Stafford getting primo 1st line mintues. Hopefully Gilbert plays well because than we on HF can have our own little "The Price is Right".

Oilers will be sucking wind by the halfway point in this one. Khabby will have to be the difference for us to have a chance.

Oilers 4

Sabres 2

Oilers outshot 43-28.

Pisani, Penner, Cogs and Grebs with the goals.

I don't see how anyone can be objectively predicting a win tonight.

It will require a minor miracle.

5-2 Sabres.

Yeah, i really hope he doesn't rush anything, he's more important long term for us than short term

Was supposed to go the game tonight, but my wife surprised me with tickets to the Caribbean. I know it sounds silly, but I was disappointed.

I would have been surprised if you predicted a win and made a positive comment. I guess you are on the right track though as last year minor would have been major.

Connolly has had one very noticeable game all year, but has quietly put up points. The boost may be more from having Vanek and Roy seperated - they aren't meshing so far this season. I'll be interested to see if the new lines last more than a period if the Oil can jump to an early lead.

I don't mind the effort, but please, these aren't correct.

And the Lines, for the Oil anyways, are in the first post.

Confidence is fragile eh.

The Oilers are great for a confidence boost. 3 games in 4 nights, this being the 2nd of a B2B, and lots of regulars out.

Perfect storm?

The defensive lines on the site he linked are incorrect for the Oilers (they're the old pairings). However, the forward lines look more correct to me than what is in the OP. O'Marra played with Brule and Comrie last night. The OP says he was with Moreau and Stortini (assuming that it is based on yesterdays lines, as it says).

So I'm not sure why you guys are so hostile to that site. Looks pretty decent to me, although yes, it isn't 100% accurate. Line-ups change pretty frequently, as we all know, and for that site to keep up to date on all 30 teams would be a pretty impressive feat.

This is the first time I've actually seen this site though, so I have no idea how horribly inaccurate it is on most days, but it's forward lines are more accurate than the forward lines in this GDT.

Edit: Actually I see that even the OP has the incorrect (old) d-pairings up as well too.

Yesterday's pairings changed to:

Grebeshkov - Staios
Smid - Visnovsky
Strudwick - Gilbert

Some people didn't order the PPV!

Btw, no insult meant to the OP for the inaccurate line-ups for yesterday. I know it's hard to keep up to current line-ups. Just commenting to those who seem to be picking apart what looks to be a decent site, to me. Fantastic GDT.

what the hell is the point of being objective, doesn't that contradict the entire point of being a "fan", short for fanatic.

and as a "fan" i believe in minor miracles. 4-1 oilers.

Did you predict a loss on Sunday too (vs. the Avs)?

There's a reason why they play games.

4-1 Oilers! Here, drink some of this kool-aid...

FYI, Hemsky is a game time decision.

If he plays, I believe the lines will look like so, for forwards:

Penner-Gagner-Hemsky
Comrie-Brule-O'Sullivan
Reddox-Cogliano-Pisani
Moreau-Potulny-Stortini

If he doesn't play, they should be:

Penner – Gagner – O’Sullivan
Comrie – Brule – O’Marra
Reddox – Cogliano – Pisani
Moreau – Potulny – Stortini

(based on yesterday's real lines)

Why is Peckham still on there? He was sent back to the AHL a couple of weeks ago.

I'm pretty sure OOF has predicted a loss in every Oiler game since Christmas of '06.

If Hemmer plays, Id rather he play with Brule and Comrie as long as they are given more then 10 shifts tonight. The first line might have something going on its own. Leave them be for tonight and rearrange things during the 3 day break.

I would definitely have to agree with this.
