Well, he said at the draft that he could have moved up if he had dealt Schenn. I don't know if Tavares was an option, but the Tampa pick was the one that most of the speculation was focused on.
Personally, I wouldn't have been on board with dealing Schenn to move up, way too high a cost for a team with a mediocre prospect pool.
Kadri + Schenn would make sense for a lot of teams but not for the Leafs seeing as a potential 1st pairing d-man AND a potential first line centre is to much to give up even for a potential franchise defender like Hedman. Had we had a different kind of centre and d depth then sure, go for Hedman. But 2 for 1 does not work for us right now when it comes to blue chip talent.
