I just think he's been snakebit. He's had so many chances this year, it's not even funny. If he had been able to convert on even just half of them, he'd be leading this team in scoring.
That's his career story in the NHL but every player has near misses. With LaRose it's an inability to consistently finish at this level. That is why he doesn't belong in the top 6 along with the fact that his playmaking skills are on the back of a milk carton.
He had only 2 giveaways, not 'at least' 4. So did Drew Doughty for LAK.

I can remember at least 4 turnovers he accounted for in the game.
Offensively, he had a nice assist but overall he doesn't seem to see the ice well and his anticipation of plays unfolding is just slow enough to allow for a stick-check when he tries to make a play. Part of the reason, I think, he is being "shielded" out of loyalty at LW.

Yes, I saw the box score too before I posted. At the RBC, hits are always inflated for the Canes and turnovers are minimized. He absolutely turned it over at least 4 times whether it's reflected in the official stats or not. Do you honestly think LaRose had 6 hits or that Carolina had only 4 turnovers as a team last night?

rosey was everywhere, giving it that trademark can do hussle we've come to love.
i watched a tape of the game and he had 146 hits, handed out 83 popcorns and drove the zamboni during both intermissions.
he was all over the place.

He also heroically blocked a shot in the celebrity shoot-out during intermission. He took a wicked Kitty Kinin slapper to the head but never missed a shift in the game.

I think him and Sutter would do well together. They had some chemistry together last year and played well together for the brief period they have this year.
Of course, I'd much rather have Mo stick with line combinations for more than 2 games, so there's that as well.

We also need to get Babchuk back and have him playing forward on the left Sutter wing since his sucks on defense. He'll be really good at driving the net and help Larose to score those rebound garbage goals.

In a sense. I think Larose is a 4th liner who can pitch in playing 3rd line duties at times.
Sutter should be playing with skilled players not energy guys, and, hopefully, he'll turn into a decent 2nd line center or winger.
Well, that's the problem then. Our team is composed of energy players, non-skilled players, or past skilled players that have lost their touch.
Mostly, my complaint comes from the line mixing. Let's take a look at the line combinations last game and who was on the ice when even strength scores happened:
So in those two games, Brindamour has played with:
Cullen
Sutter
LaRose
Ruutu
Samsonov
TKO
Walker
Whitney
Now, I'm sure some of that can be excused with being caught in line changes and whatnot, but if Brindamour's getting that kind of variety in his game, it's safe to assume Sutter's getting similar treatment.
It really doesn't matter who you play with (skilled or energy) if you're only getting a period to play with them. Chemistry is non-existent with this team, and these constant line changes are a big reason why.
I wasn't really talking about the present situation.
As it stands now, it doesn't matter who plays with who. The team has a cancer.
Besides, we have only one real first liner in Staal, two guys who I consider 2nd line players in Whitney and Ruutu, and the rest of them shouldn't see anything but 3rd line minutes, with occasional promotion when injuries happen. Hopefully, Sutter develops in a true top 6 guy, but only time will tell.
Yet, somehow these guys managed to get to the conference finals last year. I suppose things like that can happen, but never on consistent basis.

And he brought me coffee this morning -- in Maine! Love that guy.
