I have no qualms with taking the votes. I would like to have votes in by Saturday, but if it'll be Sunday or even Monday, that's okay. With the new playoff system, the playoffs should be done by early December, anyways, which leaves us lots of time to celebrate the Christmas season. (And enjoy those Christmas parties).
I would suggest that we vote for the order, and the "all-star teams," at the same time. (I have no idea why we need to have these. It's pointless. One more thing that guys have to worry about).
Just a reminder, guys: it's just for fun. Don't spend hours thinking about this. Go with your gut, send in your votes and get back to important things. (Sunday's CFL playoff games, for example).

Why don't we drop the 12 categories vote. Time consuming & meaningless. Rosters aren't laid out to do it well & you have to jump back & forth to compare. in the hewitt division (I think that's my 12 category one to do)you have all LL's bios in the middle. In future lets keep bios to the bio thread.

By "all star teams," you mean the 12 categories in part 5 of the original post of the thread right? I think ranking those would be fun. Voting strictly all-star teams would be kind of pointless, as it's pretty obvious who the top 2 centers, top RW, top LW, top 4 defensemen would be.

All-stars wasn't the right wording. But I still wonder how many guys will take the time to do it.
It took me about two hours to go through everything for my votes. I think that's too long. Tallying the votes should be a 30-60 minute process, at the most. Part of the problem is that not every team has their special teams units and call-up on their roster page. Some teams have call-ups listed with the other spare parts. In the case of the top PP unit, it's pretty easy to decide: the Cougars have so many weapons that you don't need to see a PP unit on paper to give them top spot. In the case of the PK units, there was one that had the potential to be great, but I wasn't sure if it would be employed, so I went with one that I knew would be used.
Hopefully we make Monday voting day, leaving more time for assassination and discussion, even though it is slowing down. Like GBC said, we'll be done on time either way.
I don't think we are voting on all-stars, just the lines themselves. I plan to participate. I don't think we need to outright abolish it. If you don't want to, just don't, and the results can be based on the votes that we do get.
Also, are we going to do like we did last draft to encourage voting, and allow each team to vote for itself in 1st place as a "reward" for voting?
I do wish that every team would list its power play and penalty killing units on the roster thread. It's hard to give them credit for special teams that they haven't put together themselves.
i would not mind dropping the 12 rankings, since they are so time consuming, but since i am mostly through with those, i do not mind finishing.

some are in better positions to succeed, though. and we could never tell how well a player would play in any season.
for example, i think it could happen that jagr is the best RW in a season. or durnan could have the best season in net.
Personally, I like the idea of voting for the best lines, pairings, etc..
It gives credit to guys who have put togethter certain aspects of their team very, very well, and can also potentitally be looked at somewhat for playoff voting.
Co-GM#1
Team A: 8
Team B: 7
Team C: 6
Team D: 5
Team E: 4
Team F: 3
Team G: 2
Team H: 1
Co-GM#2
Team A: 3
Team B: 5
Team C: 7
Team D: 1
Team E: 2
Team F: 6
Team G: 4
Team H: 8
Team A: 8+3/2=5.5
Team B: 7+5/2=6
Team C: 6+7/2=6.5
Team D: 5+1/2=3
Team E: 4+2/2=3
Team F: 3+6/2=4.5
Team G: 2+4/2=3
Team H: 8+1/2=4.5
That's how I did it last draft.
I thought co-GMs were each allowed their own vote that would count like one vote, the only exception being that they can't get "double" advantage for voting themselves first twice. I'm sure that's what it was like last draft.

That makes sense. Only reason to adjust is to avoid advantages to their own team.

Yes, this method is only done in the division of the Co-GM's, as every team that send their vote are automatically voted first in their division
Actually, I went back to last draft and saw that we did indeed count each co-GM as a "half vote" in the regular season because there was a bonus for voting (the first place vote you give yourself)
So, the first thing we need to know is: Is there a bonus for voting?
If not: Then there is no reason not to allow each co-GM to vote independently and allow them to each count as 1.
If so: Then co-GMs should have their votes combined for their own division, to avoid confusing math and over-rewarding them for voting twice. But, in other divisions, there should be no reason for them not to count twice.
Thoughts, everyone?

That's how I did it last draft. I'm not a math expert, but I think it's fair for everyone.
