Just so we're clear here:

GMs will send votes for the Bob Cole and the Rene Lecavalier divisions to Hedberg.

GMs will send votes for the Foster Hewitt and the Jim Robson divisions to God Bless Canada. (Thanks for the offer, Buggy, but I have already been receiving them).

You are to include the team you believe will win the series, plus the number of games and the three stars for the series.

And you can't vote for yourself. (Well, you can, but I won't count it, and I'm pretty sure Hed won't count it, either).

I would like to have all the votes by 11:59 p.m. EST tonight. (If a mod or a sponsor could send a PM to everyone, I'd appreciate it). However, I have no qualms with extending the deadline to noon EST tomorrow.

Are we clear now?

I would send out some mass PMs if I wasn't so busy today.

My votes will be coming later.... as in past midnight, but before I go to sleep tonight.

I have received votes from eight GMs. I have sent PMs to all the GMs. If I don't have votes from at least 18-20 GMs, I'll extend the deadline.

You'll definitely get mine, but perhaps around 1 or 2 in the morning. Hope you don't mind.

Votes sent. No joke, I had to play eeny, meeny, miny, moe for three of the four series in the Rene Lecavalier division, because I spent honestly about 10 minutes for each series having a huge argument with myself on who to vote for and why. That division was absolute hell to decide on.

Welcome to my world! Haha. It could easily have gone either way for a number of these series.

Well this is interesting:

Quote:
Didier Pitre was called "one of the fastest skaters of all-time" by Cy Denneny, a fine skater himself. Pitre joined the Montreal Canadiens in 1909, and was heralded as being able to skate as fast backward as he could forward before even stepping onto the ice in a Canadiens uniform. He was a member of the Stanley Cup champion Canadiens of 1915-16.
Cy Denneny, a fine skater? And I guess this is where Pitre's skating backwards stuff comes from.

That is some nice digging. That little bit of info could see Denneny appreciated as much as he deserves to around here.

In a similar situation. Hoping for a loose midnigt deadline.

You'll get more than that. I have 14 votes so far. So the deadline is now 11:59 a.m. EST on Sunday. (I will get everything taken care of before Grey Cup).

I had three tough calls. Two were in the Lecavalier division. And all three of the tough calls forced me to vote against three of my favourite GMs.

No kidding! I never voted that many upsets since I'm in the ATD, which is a great sign IMO. The ATD is as healthy as ever

Sixteen votes received. Two more and we'll have half. Remember, you have until 11:59 a.m. EST on Sunday to get your votes in.

I don't know, is that really enough? there's a lot more saying he's a bad skater than a good skater.

Twenty-three votes received. You have a little less than an hour-and-a-half to submit your votes.

Thing is, this is from LoH.net, so the information is fairly credible.

The deadline to submit votes has passed. Twenty-four of 36 GMs voted. (Lower than what I would want, but in the case of the majority of series, it wouldn't change anything). Results for the Robson and Hewitt Divisions will be posted in the regular season and playoff results threads, and playoff match-ups for Round 2, will be done before Grey Cup.

Go Riders!

Results for the Jim Robson Division are posted in the regular season and playoff results thread. I have also posted the series score and the three stars in the playoff match-up threads.

Results for the Hewitt will be coming after lunch.

Go Riders!

The threads for Round 2 are up. I think the deadline for voting should be Tuesday night at 11:59 p.m. EST or Wednesday morning at 11:59 a.m. EST. Thoughts?

Off to a Grey Cup party. Go Riders!

I like Wednesday morning. It allows discussion to go into the night Tuesday night. Then we can vote either before we go to bed or after we wake up.
