Yeah, I can't say that getting rid of Emery was wrong at the time he was cut loose. He's playing better now, true, but he could just as easily settle back into old ways this season.

Wish I could watch tonight's game but I have other commitments. Enjoy this one for me folks!

This would be a good game to sit Shannon out, he's already had a head shot this year. Although, I'm pretty sure Pronger will miss Shannon's head with his elbow when Shannon skates through his legs.

BTW, if you look at the player summary they show Martin Prusek's G/A/+ - /SOG as 0/0/0/0...

No kidding?

I think everyone expected Emery to not be the same as he was in 2007 but he proved many fans and analysts wrong.

His SV% is ranked 9th in the NHL with .922
His GAA is ranked 11th in the NHL with 2.27

Not too shabby.

I would say probably since he was in Buffalo last night for the game against the Oilers. Although Chris Cuthberg (sp?) did the game with him so if he is working tonight I will be happy.

Emery's got a pretty good defense in front of him as well as some defensively responsible forwards. Shoot high glove, boys!

I remember Emery having a problem with his wrist.

Does anyone know if that is still a problem for him?

I'm expecting the Flyers to dominate tonight.

The Senators have had trouble with good teams all year long (even though they played a good first 2 periods against the Devils) and Philly is looking super sexy this year.

5-2 for the Flyers.

I'll admit it, I'm kinda hoping for a massive line brawl. Without anyone getting injured of course, except for maybe Pronger.

The guy could go on to win 5 Vezinas and I still wouldnt regret getting him off this team.
We don't know that Emery was a distraction... the Sens never missed the playoffs when he played for us. And he played like an AHL goalie because he has alot of pride and the Sens made him the backup goalie three years in a row, without giving him a chance to really prove himself. The third time being after an injury that he put off to take the team to the cup finals and to Gerber.

The Sens underestimation of Emery (including the signing of Gerber) ranks with the Daigle drafting and the non re-signing of Chara in terms of dumb management plays.

With that said, I want to punish Philly tonight.

Sens under-estimation of Emery? Say what? In hindsight, amongst fans where the who is the better goalie polls between emery and gerber were about 50-50, surely would be more one sided now.

Not having our dmen get crushed by the forecheck will be a first test to whether early. Sens have to find a way to win this one. Should be a great battle

go sens go

HUh? late for practise, off ice bull ****.

That is a distraction. Doesn't matter who it is on a team. Very unprofessional.

It was the right move to not resign him.

Of course he's gotta learn his lesson! He had nowhere to go but up!

Like Bob Mckenzie just said on TSN... Ottawa never doubted his ability, but he gave them every reason to get rid of him.
