What do you guys expect from Eklunds site? I apologize as a Kings fan for this awful piece of writing. Hockey is not #1 in LA or in any other US city. Every city has its pros and cons.

You guys have to admit though that O'Sullivan did come across as being a little "********". Especially that last line where he says "In my opinion if you want to live somewhere warm, you can do it when you're done playing." Sounds like he is just trying to score some points with the fans. **** is that?

Wow real mature. How is this any different than what Barry wrote in the article?

The way he talks through that blog and in his comments section really brings to light some of that traditional LA lifestyle and the perspectives of those who take part in it. It's a shame.
Yep. Apparently a casting director(hmmm, and so many comments about leering at bikinis. Sounds professional)

At night he's been the dancing fool at Kings games.

Gotta laugh at all the people not even looking at him. Except one women that probably wants to be an extra in some movie..

Sorry for the youtube, really..

Question.. Does Sully play the wing or does he center a line in Edmonton? Is he an effective center?

I'm not so sure you can call the Eskimos very professional these days. Hopefully, that's corrected soon.

It's funny to read this article. It sounds like the man is actually insecure and takes POS' comments personally. What an over-reaction.

The author is an idiot and a fool. Anyone who argues for hockeys relevance in LA is wasting there time.
Thats all that needs to be said.

Maybe itís the charming personality that rubs off on the other players in the locker room?
You mean he's not Mr. Sunshine? Thats not exactly a news flash.

If you're talking about O'Sullivan, he was born in the US. He was born in North Carolina. He was raised in the Toronto though.

The article is pure ****. This guy is a ****ing joke. People should just bomb his twitter account.

Whoa... New City shout out from LA!

"And while you're enjoying talking puck battles with beer bellied Marvin from New City, I'll be over at Charlie Sheen's, hanging by the pool, listening to the ocean waves, drinking martini's, and oogling over the Malibu actress wanna-be's."

Marvin is a pretty cool guy. He gets a bit violent after a a few though.

I wouldn't say ********, I'd say 'realistic'. That's the mentality you need to have when you come play in Canada. If players want a long vacation they go play in SJ. They're done every year at the perfect time.

Agreed. He wasn't saying there's anything wrong with LA or SJ or Anaheim etc., just when you work somewhere, as long as your getting paid, you work there. Then when summer comes, go on holidays. When in the entire year of hockey will they have time to 'vacation' other than summer anyways?

He was actually born in Toronto. He's a dual citizen.

Check out this interview, its an old one but its quite entertaining. Especially revealing is the time Patty O lit his mothers couch on fire, just for fun... http://web.archive.org/web/200709280...com/sully.html

Where exactly are you from?

It's funny, I'm mentioned from being all over the place - Toronto, Michigan, North Carolina, all over the world - but I am from North Carolina. That's where I grew up, and that's where I live in the summer. Winston-Salem, North Carolina is where I'm from, and that's my hometown.

But you were actually born in Canada.

It's an unfortunate incident but, yeah I was born in Canada. My parents were there and I was born a little early...I stayed there for three days and went back home.

Are you ashamed of being born in Canada?

Not necessarily ashamed, but I take a lot of **** for being born there when I'm in the States. But I guess it's ok when I'm playing there, people have a little more respect for me. The whole dual citizenship thing is an advantage.

But you don't consider yourself Canadian do you?

Not really not when it comes to the Olympics, or anything patriotic. I feel after playing for my country last year and just being involved in something like that, I just consider myself American. I've lived most of my life in the States and most of my family is American.

Then A LOT of sites have this wrong, including the LA Kings media guide from last year (which I have). Hockey DB, Yahoo Sports, etc., all have him from NC. During the trade last year, EVERY analyst said he was from NC. I find it odd that so many sources are wrong on this.

Thats what happens when they're not getting their information from the real source, the actual player, I'm pretty sure he would know where he was born and where he's lived better than anyone.

I think most coaches would agree that he still is. He's the kind of player who is a huge challenge to coach, but once you figure him out and use him accordingly, you usually get rewarded in a big way. Steve Ludzik, Greg Gilbert, Rob Daum, Marc Crawford, they've all said very similar things. It just takes a little while for O'Sullivan to warm up to people and he's going to really test you in the beginning of the player/coach relationship. He just needs a coach who is willing to stick it out.

Hockeybuzz writer/blogger pays what, maybe 30 grand a year? But this guy is partying with Charlie Sheen and Playboy bunnies? The only way he is in the same room with these people is if a porno is about to be shot and he's working his second job as a fluffer... and I ain't talking the pillows.

POS has to say he loves playing in a city that loves hockey. I hoping that the fans lay off of POS and he can develop into the kind of player we hope he can
Be and the player he wants to be

The stat that I like is the fact he is shooting and is just gets a few bounces it should work out

Damn good player, great shot, great spreed, can control puck well, pass it really well, thinks the game well usually. Very versatile and playing every situation and special team. Quinn had him out 24mins against Buffalo. think about that, Sully is a newcomer to this team and now one of its on ice leaders.

Whats not to like?

This is a guy that has the whole skill package. A better talent than sometimes seems evident here.
