Game 18 Anaheim @ Columbus 7pm EST Google " Duck Soup " Edition

11/13/09 7pm FS-O (HD)

Last 10: Anaheim 3-6-1; Columbus 4-4-2

Season Series: This is the second of four meetings between the clubs this season. Columbus won at Anaheim, 6-4, on Oct. 24 as Jakub Voracek and Rick Nash each scored twice and Fedor Tyutin had the winner with just 3:22 left in the game.

Who's Hot: Getzlaf and Perry are each on nine-game point streaks. During the span, Perry has 13 points on eight goals and five assists while Getzlaf also has 13 points, but on a goal and 12 assists. Nash has six goals and two assists over the last six games, but it should be noted that he's also a minus-5.

Injury Report: For the Ducks, Koivu (lower body) is likely a game day decision. Getting Huselius back is good news for Columbus, but the Jackets will be without Raffi Torres for at least a week or possibly two after he got hit in the mouth by a deflected puck Wednesday. Sammy Pahlsson is also out for tonight with an upper-body injury. Fredrik Modin and Andrew Murray are on I.R.

Overall Team Offense

* The Columbus Blue Jackets are ranked 10 on offense, averaging 3.1 goals per game. The Blue Jackets are scoring 21.5% on the power play for a total of 14 power play goals.
* The Anaheim Ducks are ranked 15 on offense, averaging 2.8 goals per game. The Ducks are scoring 19.0% on the power play for a total of 12 power play goals.

Home and Away

* At home the Blue Jackets are averaging 2.2 goals per game, and giving up 2.9 goals against on defense.
* On the road, the Ducks are averaging 2.3 goals per game, and giving up 2.5 goals against on defense

The season is over but we still have to play...it's torture!

Jackets set a new record for goals allowed at home.

Jackets lose 10-2

Unless there's a complete 180 the Ducks will win big.

6-1 Ducks with goals by Bobby Ryan, Corey Perry, and Saku Koivu, 2 each.

Filatov gets the lone goal in the 1st period and is benched the rest of the game for showing up his teammates.

After Wednesday, Anaheim should be scared because there is no way we don't come out barrels blazing and try to stomp on them in the first period. 5-3 CBJ, 2 goals from el Capitan.

I'm curious. When you do this, do the other Canadians laugh, call you names, and not let you play any Canadian games?

Anyway, Jackets win big and then lose the next four. But each of the next four losses is "only one game," so no worries.

Down three goals going into the first intermission, Hitch does the only thing he can do by ditching the TV and using a projection screen instead.

It'll be either a messy game filled with penalties, or a routing of the home team. Or both.

I'm beginning to see a trend that wasn't really there in seasons past.

Win two, maybe three, get embarrissed, play well and maybe win one or two, get emarissed, etc.

This is our good game time. After the last game, I think we'll be looking to wrap this one up, which can lead to a ton of mistakes, or really good play. We'll see. Either way, sitting in eighth spot, this game is critical.

We'll play harder and better but no predictionn on the score. Captain Obvious here would like to see us take better care of the puck in our own end and in neutral ice. I've got to think that fewer turnovers will result in fewer point blank scoring opportunities for the opposition.

What if he's on the other team? Does that make it even worse?

HI all

A special night for the Ant family

My son Joshua's team the CCYHA Wild are the Future Jackets between the first and second periods tonight. He is also suppose to be part of the Video promo they run during the first period. So we will be rooting the CBJ to a victory and Joshua is going to have a total blast.

GO JACKETS!

I'm really debating on whether or not to go, with $$$ being the issue. I may not be able to decide until mid-afternoon. I wish money wasn't the factor because I'd be going in a heartbeat.

I for one AM NOT GOING TO THIS GAME.

(The fact that I live 1600 miles away has nothing to do with it.)

Jackets win 4-3.

If we lose, I won't be surprised.
We're too young, too banged up, and too not good.

Surprise me fellas!

I'm not going to this game either. Just like Buckeye fans I've given up on the season after a little setback.

It has nothing to do with any medical procedure my wife is having, nor the fact that I have the Blackberry app that will keep me informed of the score at all times.

I won't be there because jumping off cliffs and quitting is the cool thing to do, and I don't want to be left out.
