Seriously, this team will max out at 9 wins this season, if that.

I prefer that to the SO loss that was coming.

I only made it home for the 3rd, but what I saw was entertaining.

Brandon was awesome. Ruutu was incredible. Ray was good. The rest of the team can leave the country and stay as far as I'm concerned...

We hit the 8 point mark, and it only took us 18 games to reach it!

I would have rather managed no points at all. If we're going to get play this poorly then I would rather have NOTHING and make progress towards the #1 pick.

That first period was absolutely unacceptable and we were lucky to even leave the period 3-0 and tie it up. Although as I said, I would have rather NOT tied it up.

**** this team, plain and simple.

To add: despite the turnover at the end of the game, I'll be pissed off if we don't see more Brian Rodney. He was better then Corvo, Ward and Wallin for the vast majority of the game. It's easy to tell who gives a damn at this point and who doesn't. Rodney and Sutter are two of the ones that do. Ruutu and Pitkanen have joined them in that group.

Would anyone be against me "pissed off Oregon fan"ing Jim Rutherford if he doesn't trade away the majority of our impending UFAs at the deadline?

I agree. I would happily give Ruutu the C yet tonight and Brandon and Ray the A's. And I very much agree that Rodney was totally out of place here with his desire to win. I would be fine keeping him in the lineup...

Okay, just got back from the game. The first period had me muttering "they're so awful" all the way to the ladies room at the break. Then the second period started, and the real Hurricanes (well, at least some of them) started to play. I totally enjoyed the rest of the game, and I thought the monkeys were going to get out of the cages tonight!!!

Ruutu and Sutter and Gleason (for the most part) were outstanding ... Pitkanen moving again, too! I think Legace is going to do well for us, once he gets in the groove ... did some good work tonight.

Okay, maybe Sunday's the day ... Lordy, lordy, I miss Staal and Cam!

Oh, yes ... the crowd was good tonight ... very supportive, I thought, and really came alive when the guys give them something to shout about!

I'm glad Walker only played 4 minutes. After that ridiculous penalty he took in the Kings game, he deserved to sit. I hope his arm was 100% and discipline was the reason he played so little. False hope? Maybe.

Legace played pretty well. So many shots on goal were point-blank chances, so I think despite allowing 4 goals, there wasn't much you can pick on.

Gleason should sit for those penalties at the beginning of the game. Just stupid stupid stupid.

One thing I noticed - when Whitney scored that tip-in goal, the look on his and Cole's face was one I won't soon forget. It was a mix of relief, desperation, a little bit of joy...all wrapped into one. Right then I could tell that they DO CARE, but they're in such a funk that simply caring doesn't get it done. This team needs something good to happen, to get a bounce, a dubious penalty call against the other team, anything.

It's alright everybody, we found some positives.

I'm glad we had that 'fight' as Maurice describes from the start. It really showed being outshot 7-3 & trailing 3-0 after the 1st.

Gleason's penalties were stupid and cost us. But he did play well the rest of the game, I thought ....

Most of them tried their hardest! Fantastic!

Please bench Brindamour.

Didn't get to see the game, but that's nice to hear. I still like Whitney a lot, glad to hear he still has some fire even after 14 straight.

Brandon Sutter - needs more minutes
Scott Walker - shouldn't have played and 4:47 was too much of a risk

You forgot to add:
Tom Kosto - 4:50 WTF??? Why is he even here if he's not gonna be used? Anyone else wanna see Kosto on a line with Larose? Oh wait, that cant be cuz Larose is a top 6 skilled finisher.

Ideally this is what I want to see since Staal is injured:

Boychuk-Cullen-Ruutu
Whitney-Sutter-Cole
Samsonov-Brindy-Jussi
Kostop-double shift-LaRose

Pitkanen-Gleason
Corvo-Alberts (hey, what other option do we have)
Rodney-Wallin
Ward

IR: Yelle, Staal, Walker, Ryan

In fact once Staal is back just shift Brindy down and you have a pretty good 4th line you can put out there for 10+ a night without any problems.

Something is still missing though. For the last decade we would have had to lose in the first round every year to the Habs.
