Re: Dean McAmmond

The signing of Dean McAmmond was definitely under the radar.

Do you think he will get any playing time in Jersey or was he just called up if we suffered another injury?

Better at left wing or center?

No rude comments, please. Thank you.

Dean is seriously better than anyone on our current 4th line.

If he takes minutes from Peters or Pelley, I won't really mind at all.

Or Pelley, but I'm hoping his spot is permanently taken by Sestito....

I jumped the gun on Sestito (as saugus can attest to lol), but after the first game I said he needs to stay. Send pelley down, I don't care. Sestito is better in every aspect of the game. I'd feel so much more confident about the 4th line if McAmmond and sestito were on it. Guys that can actually skate and create...

Sestito has already played better then Pelley and Lowell isnt missing a beat without him in the lineup so its possible he will become the 4th line center when everyone gets healthy.

Peters wont touch the ice. Unless he become one of the ice boys

McAmmond seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle that will fill the glaring gap in out Fourth Line...

Four out of every five times Pelley and/or Peters take the ice, the shift ends with a from the entire Devils' faithful.

They actually look like they had something going last night between Pikkachu and Pelley, but then nothing came of it.

McAmmond is a competent fourth liner, he will provide necessary depth. He's also versatile and can play every forward position. Once he gets activated, my guess is Sestito or Pelley gets sent down.

Yeah, Pik looks like a competent right winger for our fourth line, and it looks like he's sticking around for a little bit... He just couldn't find that chemistry with Roddy P.

The fourth line could be McAmmond - Sestito - Pikkarainen.

...is much better than Peters/Leblond-Pelley-Pikkarainen/Leblond

It would also be nice to see PL3 get a few games against teams with goons. I'm not really sure why Peters has played more games than Leblond has this season.

For now. Once Pandolfo and Niedermayer are both back, I'm guessing at least one of them will be on the fourth line. But McAmmond-Sestito-Pikkarainen is much better than what we have now.

Agreed.

I'm thinking a good guess of what the lineup could be once our injured players return is this:

ZZ Bops. (Guess who's on that line. )
Elias - Zubrus - Langenbrunner
Rolston - Neidermayer - Clarkson (???)
Pandolfo - McAmmond/Sestito - Pikkarainen

See, I would feel good icing that lineup. It's not stupendous, and I think Clarkson is wasted a bit on the 3rd line, but it's solid.

McAmmond really helps our team. He's a past 50 point player and he can step up to the 3rd line at any time. With our offense coming back from injuries we'll really have a stacked lineup.

Parise-Zajac-Berfgors
Rolston-Elias-Langenbrunner
Zubrus-Niedermayer-Clarkson
Pandolfo-McAmmond-Pikkarainen

I really like the lineup, since it's actually guys who can score unlike P3L and Peters. I like Pelley but he isn't really a 4th line guy, Halischuk isn't either and I think sestito will be good to fill in the gaps for injuries.

I also love it is being we can switch Rolston/Zubrus at all times and sometimes put Clarkson on the top 2 lines, Pandolfo can always step up to the third line. I feel that were a really good team this year, and we can stay #1 at ease if the injuries stop. I'm actually quite excited, McAmmond really does fill that gaping hole in the 4th line.

Yeah, I was inclined to agree with that, and then it dawned on me that Neidermayer was a winger at Anaheim after the fact...

So I suppose you could have this as well if you wanted to bump up Clarkie:

ZZ Bops
Langenbrunner - Elias - Clarkson
Rolston - Zubrus - Neidermayer
Pando - McAmmond/Sestito - Pikkachu

McAmmond is not good on faceoffs, so I hope he's not slated for center.

Yeah... But as far I know, Pando and Pik aren't really centers.

If they were to play on that fourth line with McAmmond, then McAmmond would be stuck.

I remember McAmmond played on a line with Parise during the lockout season. He should fit right into the locker room.

I suppose my question is what position did we bring him in to play? He's not a great face-off guy.

Sestito (so far) is doing everything I've been wanting Pelley to do. Good skater, decent defensively, and throwing his weight around.

I'm hoping when healthy we see a Pandolfo - Sestito - McAmmond fourth line.

Just a guess, since I know Lemaire would scramble it up by the end of the first period:

Parise - Zajac - Bergfors
Elias - Zubrus - Clarkson
Rolston - Niedermayer - Langenbrunner
Pandolfo - Sestito - McAmmond
(Halischuk, Leblond, Peters, Pikkarainen)
