Kessel doesn't need Savard to score goals, he just needs a puck to be somewhere on the ice sheet.

I don't blame Wilson for putting Stajan back on the 1st line...Mitchell only 'brings it' here and there...some games he looks like he's skating through molasses...

one thing that disturbed me is in the last 2 games after an icing where our guys were obviously tired, Wilson did not take a time-out, and both games the other team immediately scored...

most coaches burn a time-out there...both goals may have been pivotal.

And both times it was Luke Schenn who was key on those goals against.

Perhaps RW should take notice of who is caught in those long shifts.

That man, then got control of the puck downlow (because of the gap Schenn created) and they controlled the puck. Then Primeau got the puck just inside the blueline and was stripped on an easy chip-out play. Then, the third time we should've gotten the puck out, it went to Stajan, who was limited in his ability to cross the red line due to the Hawks pressure and knowing this was the Leafs 4th line, made a soft dump against the boards that started rolling on him and went all the way down because of it. Didn't Stajan also win the draw back to the d-men on the play as well, which should've been an easy out?

Schenn had time and space behind the net, waited too long, put the puck into the middle of the ice where Kane was able to gain control in a prime scoring area. He should've been moving to the outside to flip it out to center or make an outlet pass. Just a brutal play on his behalf. Sometimes when you're slow, your mind stops working, it looks like that was the case with Schenn on the play. Mix that with his average puck skills and terrible acceleration and it was clearly his error.

Had Stajan hammered it down the ice, I'd agree that it was a screw-up, but he made a soft dump that wouldn't have gone for icing had it not hopped up on it's side.
Weird, someone who was watching the game, not just throwing asinine insults because we lost. He did win the draw after his "disasterous" icing.

Honestly, we had three goals, but only two ended up on the board. I'm not happy about that officiating, and someone should take a fine complaining about it. Burke makes lots of money, he should man-up and speak his mind. What a joke, we definitely need all the help we can get.

Some stats are notorious for being incorrect a lot because they're hard to judge and are open to interpretation. Giveaways and hits are probably the two stats that do this the most.

This is bang on. He is proving that if he has the puck, and some space on the ice he can be deadly. He has been a hell of a lot of fun to watch.

I don't know whats wrong with Schenn but I will not be surprised if he's a giveaway machine throughout his career.

He been doing it so much I think he's better served on the Marlies, Wilson can't shield him all the time.

Not a very good first period, but overall a pretty good effort.

A bit annoying that we lose on a legit dissallowed goal, and on a horrific giveaway by Schenn after a stupid icing and no timeout call.

But we played pretty well against a good team overall. Toskala played well, but a bigger goalie stops that 2nd goal just by being bigger.

and Kessel is just awesome. what a steal of a trade.

but we need more Kessels.

What an ignorant thing to say. Toskala was outstanding last night. His performance was right up there with any one that Gustavvson had, if not better. So you still find a way to criticize him with a really absurde statement like that? "Gusto's bigger he stopps it!!!" Ya, a slap shot through a screen of players, that tips off Kulemin then a Chicago player and hits the right post before going in, Gusto woulda stopped right?" "Cause hes the master of positioning"

Does Gusto stop 5 breakaways last night? Does he rob Towes, Kane etc... point blank?
