I'm looking for a win tonight first and foremost, if Marty ties the record too that's just gravy. If the team keeps winning and playing the same stingy defence, it will come eventually.

And everybody needs to stop being so superstitious, there are no such things as jinxes. In fact, it's rather arrogant to believe that what we say and think has any effect whatsoever on Marty's play.

I'm not quite sure why you thought of that, lol.

Glad AO isn't playing. The Caps have played well without him but still..

SHUTOUT SHUTOUT SHUUUUUUUTOUT!!!

It doesn't matter. For every one of his 125 shutouts (reg season + playoffs) someone somewhere has said the word before the game ended.

Get a shutout tonight marty!

I like this philosophy.

I googled "shutout" images, and in the first 2 pages, Brodeur / Devils had a good 5-6 pictures.

Gotta take care of business tonight. But yeah, our showdown monday night in Philly is going to be a huge measuring stick. They're really rolling right now. Our road record will be on the line. Should be a classic..

Lemaire and Langenbrunner both said he would probably play. Peters is dressed as the 13th forward in warmups in case he is a game time scratch.

TG says it might be Pikkarainen or Halischuk sitting and Peters in. He thinks it's Pikkarainen because of the way the line looked in warmups.

Also, Elias is starting on the third line with Sestito and Clarkson. Rolston is with Zubrus and Langenbrunner.

I hope Yahoo has Doc and Chico for the feed tonight. Joe Beninati is pretty good, but their colour guy is very annoying.

Puck Daddy is also a Devils fan.

But it's hard to argue against that. Marty imo was the league MVP that season despite the incredible year Crosby had. We had an offensively challenged team, but Marty was just incredible.

Yeah. NHL record for wins and 12 shutouts is pretty hard to ignore. Not to mention his Save% was phenomenal as well. Considering the lack of talent on that team it's easy to see why he was put in at 1.
