after the game my girlfriend and i waited for some of the players to leave to get some autographs (she almost fainted when she got her 74 jersey signed by oshie)...anyways, Backes was the 2nd one gone and left wayyyy ahead of the others. he didn't stop to sign autographs either

nice on the Oshie sig for your girlfriend.
i hope Backes is back soon and it is nothing serious. Maybe this time off to heal up will help him with a fresh start when he comes back.

He was probably pissed at Oshie for giving him a concussion then stealing his ice time (double-shifting on his line).
Anyway, the effort was there tonight, but you have to give the Sharks credit for being prepared for a tough physical game. They took it to the Blues. Also give Nabokov a ton of credit. Its not going to be very many nights you can get that many PP shots and not push one or two past the goaltender.
I appreciated seeing the team play with intensity again, even though the result was frustrating. If they come out with that type of effort most nights, they'll win more than their share.
EJ is fine. He's making lots of young mistakes, but he's also creating lots of chances and playing fairly good D most of the time. He's learning. These are exactly the kind of mistakes I'm willing to suffer through...for a young guy to try and play his game and improve.
Oh, I should mention: Colaiacovo played very well last night. I was thinking he was on the hot seat to be traded/demoted/waived, but I find that hard to believe now. I'm starting to think maybe they WILL continue to carry 8 D-men for a while.
Blues forward David Backes left Saturday's game early in the second period with what the club called an upper-body injury. On Sunday, Blues President John Davidson indicated that Backes was "OK," but the team would know more today.
