I know they preach patience.. But you cannot continue to put a lineup like this out there.

As Burke, your making yourself look silly by threatening to send people on 1 ways down to the minors, and not following through.

But whatever. He's trying to retain value for the trade deadline. I don't think anyone is going to want this crap.

A real let down.

Bozak with a goal so far in the Marlies game...

What does Burke have to lose? I don't get it.

Carl Gunnarson was the best defenseman according to Wilson and will stay for game against Ottawa. Maybe we just have to hope for more injuries up front and then we will finally get to see what we have on the farm.

I just hope I have the patience to put up with 3 more months of this "Showcasing half the team" strategy that seems never-ending in Leaf land.
The problem is, the more they're showcased, the less value they have.

There we're bad turnovers (tons), the Monster (off night... looked tired) and Blake (can we trade him... please) but we we're still in it until that 4th goal. And that 4th goal was Vesa's fault.
I'm telling you right now The Monster looked bad his last two starts. I know you 'fans' will say that this leaf fan is a troll but I can't believe the lengths you'll go to blame Toskla for any loss. This team continues to stink. We have all over estimated the 'talent' that we have.

Gunarsson was one of the better defenders preseason, and he was good in the World's.

Do you really think if Exelby didn't cost Kubina, and Luke didn't cost a 1st., 2nd. and 3rd. rounder he'd be in the line up?

We are not receiving honest management of this team.

Burke and RW being the married in the American Olympic team is doing an injustice to the Toronto, Canada, Maple Leafs.

Just got back from the game.

I was looking for to seeing the monster play...so much for that.

The only highlight for me was Gunnarsson. He did not look out of place at all. He looked poise, was able to keep the puck in the zone at the point numerous times and you wouldn't have thought that this was his first NHL game. Looking forward to see him in the next game!!

A real let down.
So how about getting off Gustos balls? Toskala let in the crucial 4th goal and thus its his fault? lmao.

Gusto letting in the first 3? Toskala not letting any goals till teh third period after the leafs had NUMEROUSSSSSSSSS chances to score 5-6-7-8 goals. They managed 1, had to continue taking chances, made a bad pinch, 2-1 down low, Iginla makes a perfect shot off the post.

God why I am even responding to this post.

Toskala will be in net on Tuesday, based on his outstanding performance last night, and decent performance tonight.

Confidence.

He was in a great position to shoot, but passed off because he isn't confident in his own shooting.

Blake shoots, Kessel shoots, everyone else thinks about passing.

I've heard Kulemin has a great shot, so again the coach has to get these guys heads straight.

According to Halaks agent, if Halak played he would have gotten the shutout plus the game winning goal.

I forgot to mention this in my first post, so I'll add my voice to everyone else's in saying Gunnarsson had a great game today. I didn't know if he could keep his play up from the preseason, but he may have played even better, in just his first NHL game. He made mostly good decisions and was great on the powerplay. With this level of play, I'm hoping he'll stay in the lineup at least until Komisarek returns.

Also, Gustavsson obviously had a bad game. He just wasn't focused on the first one, and was a bit out of position on the third. That's something he still needs to work on - not going too far left or right of the net when following a player, similar to a few times before when he slid way out while someone went behind the net, though his defense bailed him out then. I'm not too concerned over him though. I think he can rebound, and it's still only his first few weeks in the NHL, after all. I am very glad that Toskala seems to be playing better lately, though. You can't put all of the load on a rookie goaltender.

Doesn't matter who's in net at this point, the team sucks period. Our D sucks, and we can't score. This team is a joke, blow it up before we get embarrased and become the laughing stock of the entire league.
Too late for that because the Leafs have been the League's laughing-stock for several years now.

Yet another pathetically putrid home-ice performance for the team with the worst home record. It's not terribly surprising when they DON'T SHOW UP!!

This game was just another example of why Leafs bashers/haters frequently refer to them as the *****.

The Leafs had one of those.... his name was Nik Antropov. Remember him? Burke traded him away for draft picks at the last Trade Deadline.

Burke's Ego will prevent him from doing anything. I doubt he trades until the deadline, and I doubt he keeps the youngsters for more than 1-2 games at a time.

He thought that this was a playoff team, and he won't ever admit that he was wrong.

I don't know whats the problem with the leafs right now. You guys completely dominated Calgary and like a previous poster said, a few bad breaks and all momentum is lost. I don't think you guys are as bad as the record indicates. I actually think there's alot of time to turn this ship around.

Is RW going to try trapping anytime soon?
