The Guarantee

This is my very 1st GDT, and on this occasion, I proclaim this a guaranteed win afternoon. Afterwords, we will be 9-9-2, good for 20 points and in sole possession of 11th place in the west. Still a ways to go, but this afternoon will be something to build on.

I also guarantee that the sun will set, that every clock will be right atleast two times a day, and that I will never tempt the powers-that-be in such a "confident" way.

As well, Khabibulin records his first shutout of the year.

Atlanta actually has a pretty impressive team. I am expecting a loss, as we never seem to win Sunday afternoon games.

Fun Fact:
Ilya Kovalchuk in 6 games vs the Oilers has 1 goal.
The Oilers are 3-1 at Philips Arena.

The last time the Oilers played Atlanta was on a Sunday Afternoon and the Oilers won 4-2.

Nik Antropov will no doubt score his first goal of the season--that's a given. But I think the Oil will pull this out in a close scoring battle.

4-3 Oilers

Him and/or Reasoner. Both have a goose egg, both could get their first.

Good catch; 'didn't notice that. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see Reasoner net one, either.

Lots of players seem to get their first goals against us. The Oilers are the slump busters of the NHL

I think the Oilers have been hearing rumblings about people *****ing about all the PPV's. This is on the preview page:

It’s also important to note that that Oilers PPV was created as a vehicle to broadcast Oiler games which would not otherwise be broadcast and we remain true to that initiative.

This year Rogers Sportsnet West chose to reduce the number of Oilers games they broadcast from 48 to 40. The Oilers PPV schedule is determined after CBC, TSN and Sportsnet select their Oilers games.

The Oilers endeavor to get the remaining games on PPV, although that isn’t always possible – this year two Oilers games will not be available on television, although the Oilers plan to deliver them via their website at no charge.

Its good that they mentioned this...still no excuse to put on a subpar production.

I hate to burst your bubble Soli but if a clock is working and it is fast or slow, it will not be right at all during the day.
