This is my very 1st GDT, and on this occasion, I proclaim this a guaranteed win afternoon. Afterwords, we will be 9-9-2, good for 20 points and in sole possession of 11th place in the west. Still a ways to go, but this afternoon will be something to build on.

I also guarantee that the sun will set, that every clock will be right atleast two times a day, and that I will never tempt the powers-that-be in such a "confident" way.

As well, Khabibulin records his first shutout of the year.
Reading this, I was pretty upbeat until I came to the bolded part. Looking at two clocks in my room simultaneously I see that they show different times. As they are both running I deduce that at least one can never be correct. You need to change "every" to the phrase, "even a broken clock" before game time or we risk Chaos in the Universe.

This. In fact, almost only broken clocks are ever correct, but as stated they're limited to a very small temporal unit twice a day. I don't think my clock is correct, but I still prefer it to a broken one.

So, how about those Oilers huh?

I see that atdhe.net shows today's match as Edmonton Oilers vs Edmonton Oilers.

This just goes to prove what most of us have felt for several years - that our task in each match is less about beating our opposition and more about trying not to beat ourselves!

Yeah, could definitely be a run-and-gun type of game.

Hopefully the Oilers top line can click and Horcoff can have some offensive success upon his return.

It’s also important to note that that Oilers PPV was created as a vehicle to broadcast Oiler games which would not otherwise be broadcast and we remain true to that initiative.

This year Rogers Sportsnet West chose to reduce the number of Oilers games they broadcast from 48 to 40. The Oilers PPV schedule is determined after CBC, TSN and Sportsnet select their Oilers games.

The Oilers endeavor to get the remaining games on PPV, although that isn’t always possible – this year two Oilers games will not be available on television, although the Oilers plan to deliver them via their website at no charge.
Yeah they had Allan Watt on Oilers Lunch the other day.

He said Sportsnet also dropped the same amount of Flames games. But the Flames decided to let at least 5 games I think he said just go totally dark with no tv.

He said they make money off the Sportsnet games too (similar to PPV). He said it is a good deal with them and he wished Sportsnet would show all the Oiler games. He said last season Sportsnet found it a nightmare to try and schedule 48 games from both the Oil and Flames on the same channel. He said with the condensed schedule this season because of the Olympics there is not way they could take that many from both teams again and make it work. He said they might stick with the amount of Flame/Oil games from this season in the future as it is just easier to schedule.

He said they approached local channels like City TV (who did take 1 game) and Global etc... But they were already paying for other programming that they bring in and were not willing to spend more to produce the Oil games (on short notice I am assuming though that is not what he said).

He mentioned they spend 60-70 grand on each PPV broadcast (and yes he said they do make a profit at that number). He claimed they hired the producers that do Red Wing games on Fox Sportsnet as well as other major league teams to produce the broadcast. He seemed a bit annoyed that people felt they do not do a good job with the PPVs.

I've been hanging out on the politics board. Too many good discussions (read: arguments) going on there

Anyhow, 11-5 Oilers.

Smid with the hat trick. Brule, Penner, Gagner, Horcoff, and Moreau (???) share the rest
Resoner with all 5, which will all be set up by Kovalchuk
