Lots to fit in the title.

Here's our enforcer with skill. Hope he and Boll are in the lineup Monday.

Mason wasn't at Hockey Fest today. At first the word was that his trainer "didn't want him to go", but rumblings of the flu popped up as well.

Official word on Mase is back spasms. In other news, I am loving the Sestitio call-up. I have been calling for this team to get a big bruiser who can clear the front of the goal, glad to see that the team is thinking the same. Great mini article about Mase on Fanhouse the other day showed where most of the goals scored on him this season have been center ice between the face off circles, prime space for scoring opportunities.

Sestito call-up should be fun if he can live up to the expectations of "talented Boll" in the bigs.

At least Boll can fill his role and win fights, all Sestito has shown in the NHL is that he can play punching bag well. Boll with skill...isn't that Dorsett for the most part?

From what I've seen this year.. Sestito can't go tape to tape on a pass if his life depended on it, and his fights have been atrocious.

Exhibit A:

The one positive I'll give him is that he IS doing some dirty work in front of the net, which is how he's gotten all of his goals.

I agree totally with fitchjr1 as Sestito has shown nothing in his time in Syracuse. He might be the worst fighter for someone his size in all of Hockey. I hope he does well and proves me wrong. I would take Boll anyday over Tommy and not a huge fan of Boll either. This might be a showcase for a trade!

He played in 1 NHL game. And the guy he fought (DJ King) makes a lot of players look like punching bags. Sestito aint the best fighter, but he's got size, is willing, and his best asset is that he likes to be in front of the net causing havoc for goaltenders and getting rebound put back goals which is something this team needs.

That's fine, but how happy will you all be if he plays in place of Filatov?

I know you're not asking me but my answer is "not at all." Anyway, maybe just a body for the long road trip?

And honestly, I'm having trouble keeping up with who's up and who's down and who's healthy and who's not.

EDIT:
Oh, and the scrum in which Sestito participated in his only NHL game was right in front of me. I'll see if I can find the pix. (It was mostly a mass of humanity.)

If he comes in and shows more than Nikki (which won't really be that difficult) then very happy. I don't really care who gets it done, just that it gets done. Sestito has more than size, he has great hands for a big guy. The only question is his foot speed and will he be able to keep up at the NHL level. He is a smart player who can make and finish plays.

Clearly he has been playing pretty well down in the AHL otherwise he wouldn't have been the one recalled.

It is interesting that he is getting recalled, nobody new is hurt.

12 forwards dress per game. Here's what we're looking at:

Huselius - Vermette - Nash
Umberger - Brassard (I don't think his hand is good yet - RJ was taking face-offs on Friday) - Voracek
Chimera - fill in for Pahlsson - Boll or Dorsett (How is his hand? Still swollen?)
fill in for Torres - fill in for Murray - Boll or Dorsett

The team has 5 games on the road coming up. I don't know the travel schedule, they could come back to Columbus pretty easily just based on geography. In Dallas, Nashville, NYC, Montreal, then Ottawa. Based on dates, maybe not: 19th, 21st, 23rd, 24th, 26th.

They definitely want a body or two for the press box. This just might mean Torres will be out for much longer than we want and Dorsett may not really be ready to go.

I think the league wants you in town 24 hours before an away game if possible. They could do 2 then home, 2 then home, 1 then home, if my math is right. I attended South-West City Schools.

Sestito is still very young and there is a huge list of big men who took a while to fine tune their coordination and balance as a pro. He is a proven goal scorer in OHL as well as a willing combatant. I believe he can be a very effective 4th liner with upside. I'm betting he will play with passion and that's always a good thing!

This. They may have brought up a player to fit a role, not just best available. If Dorsett can't go, bring in a player that fits the same mold. Move Boll up to the third line and put Tommy in on line 4. Plus, it's always nice to have extra bodies on the west coast.

The Blue Jackets will dress winger Tom Sestito and play him on the fourth line in place of Nikita Filatov. Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock said Sestito merited a look thanks to his solid play in Syracuse.

Ummm, yeah, Boll wins so many of his fights.

I hope Sestito finally puts some pressure on Boll to do something more than he has to this point.

Oh for gods sake, you mean Hitch actually cares about winning and putting in a player that has a chance to win a board battle? Fire him.

I'm sure three turnovers in a single shift right after taking a penalty for "tackling" would be endearing to every other coach in the league.

I would be willing to bet that that shift and the penalty have NOTHING to do with it.

This organization doesn't have the financial luxury to recall a player from Syracuse, costing them a huge jump in Sestito's salary, to have someone sit healthy in the press box because of a few turnovers.
