We really had some extra bounce in our steps tonight. Very happy with what I saw (besides that last goal, where i really would have liked a goalie interference call), lots of hustle, hard work, and body sacrifice.

That Betts line is great.

The real reason we won is because Oduya was hurt. He owns us lately.

Asham hurt in case anyone missed it. I'm hoping for a Kalinski call up.

Per Comcast Sports Night: Asham has an oblique (abdomen) strain and will be out for 10 games. Laliberte is being called up.

It will be good to know whether or not our backup can be a capable player. The fact that he's only gotten into 1 game despite how well Emery has been, and even though we've had a light schedule to start, tells me that they don't have much confidence in him, and at some point Emery needs to play less games because he's not a 75-game goaltender.

I don't think they played that badly Saturday. Pretty snake bitten against Miller in that game. I think the past 7 have all been great efforts

I didn't have a good feeling about that game honestly.

I would rather Kalinski, but I guess it will be good to get Giroux a scorer.

Good to see our defense is finally meshing into one of the top units in the league like we all hoped it would be.

Also it's almost fun to watch PK's again this year, but for different reasons. Last year the threat of a shorty was always in the back of my mind whenever we took a penalty so that was exciting, but this year I just love watching guys like Lapperiere, Betts, and Pronger shut other teams down.

From what I've heard about him and seen from him he seems like the kind of player who would be much more successful in the NHL than the AHL... but maybe that's why I'm not a scout or general manager!

I posted this in my thread about Pow by Graham Central Station but I thought I'd come here as well...

I was at the game tonight (per usual) and Powe scores...I'm not even thinking about the possibility of my idea coming to fruition because the idea is merely in its infancy. I thought we would need some time to convince the Flyers brass. So I'm celebrating and all of a sudden I hear "POW! I got ya....I caught you with your funk down!"

I couldn't believe it. We did it! Thanks guys. I'm so happy haha.

(For those of you that don't know, see my thread about music for Powe. There is a song called Pow by Graham Central Station, and a few other members helped me contact the Flyers and sure enough, they played it tonight when he scored.)

What a ****ing job by Laperriere and Betts tonight, especially Laperriere...just awesome with the effort and shotblocking. That one play where he dove around three different times holding up the D from getting off a shot and then finally blocked it when they attempted it. Great stuff. I don't think there's any question that those two on the PK has been huge for the team thus far and hopefully it continues that way. It's not just that they are "eating up minutes" so to speak and allowing some other guys to rest...right now, they are our best forward pairing for the PK. They were the go to guys tonight, and hopefully they keep up the good work and that continues.

If it turns out that way, it should pay HUGE dividends in the Spring.

So I got to watch about 14 minutes of the 3rd period tonight (DVRed it), but from what I saw of the game and the highlights, it looked like everyone played hard and had good games. Anyone with a not-so-good game? Look like Richy was playing a more physical game since he's been kinda stale.

Also, JVR looked like he never had the flu.
