How many goals does Dustin Penner finish with?

Easy question. Assume that he plays 80 games.

I have faith in the big man

34-37

His goal scoring would have to slow down by about 30% for him to hit those numbers

wow specific. I expect is 35-40G from Penner.
Im going with a 40G - 37A -77Pts Season prediction, I would be thrilled if this happens.

So is this a scientific poll to make fun of HF if the majority of posters are far off?

FTR-I went with 40-44.

Nope. I use HF to get a sense of the crowd's feeling.

Not sure where you stand on Penner BBO. Do I need to run that number through the Schremp converter?

Have always been a big fan of Penner's and Souray's. I wanted Lowe to sign both players.

BTW-What's your personal opinion? Kind of rude asking everyone theirs without stating your own. Although I guess it's easier to stand on a soapbox when your neck was never on the chopping block because you refrained from making a guess

IMO he should be at least around 35 by the end of the year. The thing is that he hasn't had many scrambles beside the net or tip goals yet. IMO Souray's return will help him get more garbage goals on top of some of the skill goals that he's had so far.

32-33.

He started extremely hot and although he continues to be one of our best forwards Penner has already cooled off a bit.

Btw Bryan don't you think the options were a little too specific? Almost like having decimal places.

His shooting percentage is currently close to 20 percent while his career average is 12-13.

Assuming it drops somewhat, he'll likely end in the 36 goal range.

Not at all, the way that he did it covers pretty much every angle and it gives you a better representation of the feel. If he simply did 20-30, 31-40 etc. it wouldn't be very accurate. That said, who knows if he has ulterior and cynical motives or not? You gotta watch those blogger folk!

OMG man!

Thats just crazy, he would have to score 161,290,322 per game as an average for the rest of the year! With current injury trend and coming schedule....there is no way.

That not even taking into consideration how many sticks he breaks...which will affect his 2,688,172 goals per minute pace.

In conclusion, I think you are overly optimistic with this guess.

AV bet?

And how much is "somewhat" to get to your 36 goal range DSF? IMO he will shoot better than his career average this season.

BTW-How many goals do you predict for Smyth?

I want to be optimistic. He is on a fantastic pace. But maybe 26-32 is my range. Somewhere around 30

And he'll get more easy goals as well when/if the team has more offensive balance. I also don't think that he's 100% recovered from the flu yet either.

He had 29 in his rookie year, you don't think that with as good as he's been playing that he'll top that by a decent margin?
