"Bulin Wall" MUST go!!

Psyche!! I'm getting SO annoyed with the SNWEST announcer and his "Bulin Wall" theme that I just had to post this. Khaby and the rest of the Oilers played great tonight, but I'm getting sick and tired of that broken record of an announcer on SNWEST. Arrrggghhh

Am I the only one who likes the "Bulin Wall" reference?

He's a Pink Floyd fan, so it works. Besides, every time I hear it, I get the tune in my head. That's never a bad thing.

It's a better call than "the captain Ethan Moreau".

Wow, i was about to yell at you for saying that Khabibulin must go but yeah the "Bulin Wall" thing is a little annoying but he's been nicknamed that for a long time now, it's better than "Another Brick in the Wall"

That's another one that really bugs me...no originality as far as I'm concerned..I'm a Floyd fan myself, but that's just....superkhabifrajalistichemskyhorkydorkness!

It's just a great nickname. If you notice Kevin Weekes never says Khabibulin he just says "The Bulin Wall". Commentators love to say it.

I like it. And the song. It's nice to have some catchy character to the team.

But if they started calling him "West Edmonton Wall" I wouldn't complain either.

Are you talking about Khabi being a Pink Floyd fan or the announcer?

Because Khabi had never even heard of Pink Floyd before his mask artist decided to do a Pink Floyd tribute on one of his masks.

http://hockeygoalies.org/bio/khabibulin.html

HIS MASK: "Someone tabbed me the Bulin Wall [after the Berlin Wall] and it stuck. I told the painter to do something cool. So he did this thing based on The Wall by Pink Floyd. I don't know anything about Pink Floyd. I don't have any of their CDs. I don't even know what some of the things here are. And they spelled my nickname wrong - there shouldn't be an O." (ESPN The Magazine, 1/21/02, p. 104)

I find the nickname overused during the play by play but that's what announcers do so we'll be hearing it for a while.

I don't like this new D-Train for DP. I think they should just call him DP for innuendo's sake.

I kinda thought it was funny when he used it nonchalantly.
