Dunham to Pens proposal

NYR gets:4th rounder

Pens getunham

Pens will need a guy to fill in till Caron,Fleury, and Chiodo are ready to fill in.

He's decent when he is not under pressure like we saw when he was first traded to the Rangers. He would be okay to have there from 1-2 years.

No deal for exactly the same reason you suggested. Rangers also need Dunham for the next couple of seasons until Blackburn is ready. Pens should look at getting a UFA goalie in the summer on the cheap. Someone like Byron Dafoe could possibly do the job although he has struggled the last couple of seasons with injury and form.

The absolute last the the Pens need is another goalie. They are going to have to let Aubin walk to make room. MAF and Caron in the NHL, Chiodo and it appears Duba in the AHL. NO room at all for aother goalie.

Yeah but the Rangers can sucker a starter to come in and play, but the Pens just can't.

First of all,Pens probably couldn't afford Dunham...and with MAF probably playing next year why bother??

if we were planning on using a veteran goalie don't you think we would have kept the cheaper Hedberg?

The Penguins aren't going to win, why would we sacrifice the development of our goalies for a guy who's barely better than these guys anymore?

I'd rather have Caron than Dunham anyways. Fleury, Caron, Chiodo, and Duba will be in the mix next year. What they lack in experience they more than make up for in raw talent.

If we need a vet, which is highly unlikely, we'd just sign Aubin in free agency. We won't retain his rights because of his contract but we could get him via free agency easily.

The rangers need to be seriously considering Gerber as their solution. he would EASILY take the job from dunham. what would new york offer?

i wouldt take dunham if the rangers gave us their 4th rounder. the pens have absolutely no need for him. a goalie is the last thing the Pens need. caron may have looked hsaky at times, but he's still young, not to mention any goalie would have been shaky behind the pens this year.

The last thing the Penguins need are more goalies, value wise I wouldn't even make an attempt trading for Mike Dunham even if I needed a goaltender.

The Rangers need a goalie but they certainly don't need Dunham. If they could find a way to trade Dunham (more or less an impossibility IMO) they would. They would certainy take a fourth rd pick (hell, make it an '05 4th) from Pitt to get rid of him and the money he makes. I don't see the Pens doing it.

There are plenty of goalies that could fill the bill for what the Rangers are looking for.

**** if the Pens want another goalie, how about Cechmanek? At least that way you guys could get Crosby to make up for losing this year's 1st overall pick.

Make a bid for him.

We'll toss in Matt Bradley.

Hey he once had like 20 points and he's younger than Wayne Primeau so he's obviously good.

dafoe has struggleed a bit but would rather have him instead of dunham we dont need him id rather see a young guy get the season even if it costs losing we are going through somewhat of a rebuild.WE DONT NEED DUNHAM , dont know what u are talking about

have him for free , he played good b4 he hurt his groin or his hip or what ever it was he is an ok goalie but i think he was also injuredwhile playingh this year . he looked to have trouble recovering form shots and not getting up also from side to side he was slow, dont think he ever fully healed but who cares i dont think nyr needs him and if i was gm hed be gone injured or not

Why would penguins want dunham. They have 2 NHL goalies better than dunham, JS Aubin and Sebastian Caron.

Ha, still a no sell. Maybe if you had thrown out Pukeburger, I might've thought about it. I mean who is more entertaining getting his face smashed in like Kelly Buchburger?

Without any problem.
I'm sure the Pens would deal Lehto if they could get something in return, because they are too loaded in nets. Aubin, Caron, Fleury, Chiodo, Duba, Goepfert, Crawford-West...
Lehto is certainly available. For a mid pick I would guess.
