Jamie Benn

He played for the junior team I watch last year (kelowna rockets) and I was just curious if you Stars fans like him. How's his play? Does he play special teams? He was one of our best forwards last year (next to maybe mickael backlund).

Benn's talent is obvious. At times he dominates with his skill and at times just overpowering people, however, he also seems a bit dazed at times. But in all fairness that is a heck of a jump from WHL to NHL, and he has definitely outplayed Brunnstrom for the time he has earned. He plays some on the pp, but on the later unit, for example he only got about 1 minute of pp time as compared to morrow/neal/eriksson who all got about 3 minutes. The biggest thing that Morrow wanted from him when Benn was on Ribs-Morrow line was for him to shoot more, cause when you are a line with Ribs and Morrow that would be your job...shoot. Recently he has been put on Modano's wing, and historically Modano plays very well with youngsters, last year with Neal being an example. He has had 1 chance on the shootout but got his head down in close to the goalie and the puck got poke-checked away. Benn will be a force for years to come.

Benn is a much better passer than he was given credit for coming into training camp.
