Last time out
  • : It was another shootout game for Columbus on Monday night, this one a 3-2 win over Edmonton. It came down to the fourth round of the shootout, as Jakub Voracek -- with a slight trim job to the locks -- scored the game-winning goal, and goalie Mathieu Garon made the decisive save in the 2-1 score to earn that team goal.
  • : Wednesday night, the Stars visited Detroit and picked up the 3-1 victory with picket fences in the box score. Alex Auld made 31 saves for the win between the pipes, while the goals came from Mike Ribeiro, Matt Niskanen and Loui Eriksson. Brad Richards and James Neal each had a pair of helpers.

This is the start of a C-word road trip...

Moo's GDT is far better than mine.

If Moo's GDT played my GDT, Moo's GDT would win 10-2.

As it is, the Stars will win by a lesser margin. 8-3 Dallas takes this one.

I didn't even know you started one. There wasn't one up when I went to work on one.

stars in OT, 4-5

I'm thinking goals by Nash, (2) Voracek and Vermette

This is a c-word game for the Jackets.

So the CBJ were the last in the whole NHL to not go into overtime, and since then have gone into OT in 4 of the last 7 games. Get this game taken care of in regulation!

Wings announcers said that the Stars have been alternating wins & losses recently. They won last night. So...

They played last night, too, whereas we didn't.

Should be a fun game. Play like we did against Edmonton & we ought to have a great chance.

We also had scored 2 goals in 6 straight games leading up to Detroit. Thankfully Howard fixed that and we topped at 3 instead.

Raffi is back in the lineup tonight. I hope he can pick up where he left off. I love his work ethic.

Wow, Garon played 2 really good games and he gets benched in favor of Mason.

Hitchcock must hate French-Canadians.

Well if Mase is back in form, Columbus can win. If not, we're screwed.

Mason is pissed off about his last performance, he will be in form tonight. He will earn his first shutout 3-0 (en) jackets

Goals by Brassard and Neal in the 2nd.

Turco stands on his head in the third and overtime.

Seeing Tyutin ready to approach for the first shot in the shootout, and bearing in mind the well known NHL conspiracy to screw the Blue Jackets, Bettman and the war room panic, and issue an executive decree to reinstitute the tie.

Jackets 1, Stars 1.

(of course there actually is no conspiracy to screw the Blue Jackets, so don't take this one to your bookie).

Hitch goes to his old barn, where he tells the media he hates Russians, French-Canadiens, and Cowboys from Dallas Jackets play inspired hockey and win 4-2.

I will be at the Jacket Backers game watching party for this one! BW3 in German Village, 515 S. High Street, Columbus, OH 43215.

Turco always seems to have his A game for the CBJ. It often takes a "distinct kicking motion" to score on him.

(NOTE: The first part of the above post is totally serious. The second part is only mostly serious.)

Stars 6-5 in the shootout.

Eriksson with a hat trick.
Brassard and Neal will fight.
Leclaire lets in a softy.
Malhotra with the OT winner, only to have Auger and Fraser and Toronto take it away.

oh wait...

This is a critical game for both teams. I'm expecting a physical, tight checking game.
