Fully beatable opponent tonight.

Boy, I hope the boys show up right from the get-go!

Oh, and that Gordon just lets Hunter and Nielsen play together.

Well, given what we've seen through the first 20, this is a game this team has to win. The worst team in the Western Conference, a team that is pretty easy to play against(by all accounts).

The Isles, coming off this 4 day rest, have to have this win.

If the Islanders expect to make the playoffs, losing to the Wild is unacceptable. I'd go with Roloson after his solid performance in Boston.

Islanders 6
Wild 1

I see this one getting ugly. Isles are hot, they are scoring, they work hard. The Wild won't be able to handle the Isles tonight. That's my prediction and I'm sticken to it!

The one scary thing about the Wild is that they have very good goaltending. The Isles can't take them lightly because a hot goalie can steal a win.

Yes, Backstrom can have a good game, which would keep the Wild in it, I think it is easy to look past this type of team. On the otherhand the Isles will be well rested, and Roloson wasn't do well against his former team if he gets the start.

This Islanders team isn't talented enough to take ANYONE lightly. Standings say that the Wild are the worst team in the West. That means nothing when the game is actually played.

Isles have to start out hard, get them down quick, and never release the strangle hold. Blowing a lead to this Wild team can have lingering psychological effects on the still inexperienced Isles.

This could be the biggest win in November for the white shirts. With the most amount of games played in the Eastern Conference the isles definitely want to stay in the top 8 however without this win Atlanta, Boston, and Florida have potential of pulling ahead of us. Although it is early in the season, playing 22 games with 23 points in 10th or 11th overall I feel that is what will ultimately lead to a downfall of this team.

would be nice to announce the Schremp and Tamby and a 2nd rounder for Brent Burns trade right before the game. Any chance that will happen? I'd even add a sweetener - say, hm, meyer?

Pretty cool. I know the video was posted either on the Isles board or on the main board, but if you haven't seen it, check it out below.
According to Botta, this little guy will be at the game tonight and is going to lead the fans in the pre-game ”Let’s Play Hockey!”

Listen guys, I know we are playing well but to say this islanders team should must win against a wild team is almost ridiculous to me. First off they have a great goaltender, and our defense is still just as bad as it was to start the year despite playing well. I hope the Islanders continue to improve and show me they are a better team, but to say we are that much better then this wild team, idk.... regardless

LETS GO ISLES!

I don't want to be the pessimist either, but, I feel were do for a reality check and this might be it. I don't think the Wild is as bad as some of us think. Plus our D Corps is plenty awful. I'm thinking closer than we all imagine, I'm happy to squeeze a point out of the game tonight.

i agree with those who tink the wild shouldnt be taken lightly, theyre a really physical team, the isles better come ready to bang. if they get a few past backstrom and stay out of the penalty box they should be fine.

any word on Witt?

Damn, I know he hasn't skated in a couple days, but against the wild I would put him in. Between him and Jackman combined we can some physical ability in our game.

BTW 609 posts giddity!

Think he's back with the team, but since he hasn't skated for a few days, Gordo wanted him to get some practice time in first.

He is back with the team after being gone for several says for personal reasons. But he will not play tonight according to Gordon, till he practices and gets skating again.

Nice job! No more alignment issues here.
