Interesting article about the state of affairs of the Wild currently.

http://www.startribune.com/blogs/70541872.html

"This is a team wound super tight right now. Not a lot of laughs anymore on the ice or in the locker room."

If we jump on them early, I say they can easily implode and this game could be a blowout. If on the other hand we let them get a little bit of confidence and Backstrom gets hot, that could spell trouble for us.

In any event we should win this game.
4-1 Isles. JT, Moulson and Streit with goals.

The current Islanders win this game 4-2. The Islanders of the past lose this one 4-2. Which team will show up?

KO has a monster game returning home.
Goal, assist on a Bergie goal, all over the ice.
Scores by JT and Streit wrap up a tidy 4-2 win.
Now that Gorton finally knows that the rules allow a timeout, he calls one just for fun, even though he doesn't need to.

Crazy. I understand sitting Tambellini for a game or two to perhaps send a message, just like what was done with Bailey. However, what good does sitting him for a long time and letting him get rusty do? I am completely confused by how the coach is handling a player with the talent to score.

Great segment. He was in the most focused state I've ever seen a hockey player.

Isles dominating the first three shifts. Great shift by the Nieslen line.

Isles pre-game shill with the ********* comment of the evening, noting Peter Sykora's concussion: "...Bad news for him, but good news for the Isles and their fans," given his past production vs. NYI.

How mature, how enlightened. Sure, what's an injury to someone else's brain, as long as it benefits the hometeam?

Myopic ignorance personafied, and I only hope the idiot reads this thread.

Charles, you want a first class organization, act like one.

Glad I wasn't the only one who caught that. I wasn't sure I heard it right at first, but apparently I did.

Something about the guy that just rubs me the wrong way. Jackass thing to say.

Weak goal?

Quick question:

With Roloson playing so well and Biron's last few starts being mediocre, how many more games of this trend would it take to warrant a #1 starter argument for Roloson?

Anyway, we're on the powerplay. Lets get it right back!

Isles look like they haven't played in 4 days. Meaning they look rusty as hell

I can't wait till Witt comes back. Gervais needs to sit. Let MacDonald take his minutes.

Just an observation....

No, I am not a blood-thirsty type hockey fan, and see fighting as a modest component of the game.

That said, it would be nice if ANY of NYI's top nine forwards ever engaged in fisticuffs. I am not encouraged that the dirty parts of the game are relegated seemingly exclusively to the fourth-liners. It says something about the personality of your team when your top guys get their noses dirty. Again, to be clear, not suggesting NYI's top 9 are figure skating primma donnas. But even Crosby, Malkin, Richards and the like will drop them on the odd occasion.

To be fair, does punching someone in the nuts while he's fighting someone else really count as fighting? I might as well count Semin's bongos.

Agreed on Richards though.

Oh please that was one instance. Crosby drops the gloves twice or so a year.

On another note, with that 'stache, Nolan looks like an older Olli Jokinen.

Well to be fair our top 6 is basically all 20 years old. I'm sure there is some fear involved. Still, I'd think Moulson and Okposo would drop occasionally, and don't be surprised if they do by the end of the season. I'd be surprised if Tavares ever drops them. He really doesn't seem like the type at all.
