I don't think Cooke's hit was dirty, and there was no intent on his part to injure. It looked like Cooke was trying to make a hit and planted his leg. Unfortunately, his knee was sticking out, and it hit Donovan's knee squarely. It was a really unfortunate incident, and it's not the first time we've seen something like this.

The injury looked really bad from vantage point at the Bank. Donovan couldn't put any weight on his leg and was grimacing in pain. Neil came off the bench to aid him off the ice, and you could see Donovan wouldn't have made it to the bench without Neil's help.

I hope this doesn't end his career. But given his age and that his biggest asset is his speed, this could very well be his last hoorah. I hope not, but it's possible.

If he wants to leave the arena alive, he'll run.

It really sucks when things like this happen. By trying to make an impact you end up damaging another player's career. Usually someone who was one of the last people who deserved it.

Nah, more like Steve Downie 2. Hopefully the sens will make Cooke pay like they've been doing to Downie.

maybe better than we initially thought. Although vague, 8 weeks rarely turns into the full season

Quote:
Ottawa Senators forward Shean Donovan suffered a right knee injury in Thursday's 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins and will be sidelined for up eight weeks, if not longer.

Donovan underwent tests on Saturday which reviled medial collateral ligament (MCL), and possibly anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) damage, but surgery is not expected.

Heres to a full recovery

That's too bad for you guys he was a good player, and Cooke probably should get a few games for this.
