Alex Burrows + 2nd RD pick (Van) for Patrick Sharp (Chi)

Chicago saves roughly 2 million in cap space. Burrows can replace some of Sharp's offensive production (28 goals last year).

I'm not sure a 2nd RD pick is enough but I thought a 1st would be overpayment.

Teams generally don't trade players that just signed cap-friendly long term deals.

Ugh, my hate for Burrows makes me biased. He is a good, hard-working player though. A bit of an over-achiever in my opinion.

I don't like it. Sharp is our 2nd best forward.

I like the 2nd round pick but Hawks fans hate Burrows and I would puke if I ever see that punk in a Hawks jersey

And he is pretty overhyped. Didn't do much last year in playoffs

Seriously? I'd jump all over that if I were you. Sharp is 10x the player Burrows is. The 2nd round pick is nice and all, but Sharp is a very, very good player.

Burrows needs players to help him put up points.
Sharp can do it by himself.

iirc he had a bone chip in his left wrist and minor left thumb and hip flexor (which isn't good) injuries and played with all of them. He had surgery over this summer to correct the bone chip.

Before these injuries he was fantastic in the St. Louis series and was PPG with a GWG in the final game.

Anyway, interesting proposal, but I dunno if Chicago is that interested in dealing Sharp. They're going to exhaust all options before the deadline to move other less important players with higher salaries to other teams. Not that Burrows isn't valuable, but that he plays a bit of a different role than Sharp does and Chicago has other players they can move.

Vancouver would also not want to give up Burrows for a rental shooter if he's just coming back to Chicago or leaving next year.

While his numbers weren't great he did score 3 goals and 4 points in 10 Games. While the Twins too went ice cold in our series against Chicago (Damn Keith and Seabrook!) He still scored the Series clincher against the Blues (and our only OT Goal of the play-offs). So I don't think his first play-off experience as a goal scorer was too bad I understand the bad blood from the previous incident. But I think it wouldn't take too long of Burrows playing for you guys to look past it.

And to whoever wouldn't deal Burrows for Sharp... Shame on you. Burrows is iffy where as Sharp is a 30 Goal scorer and would probably move Ryan Kesler up into consideration as a legit Playmaker in the NHL. Sharp-Kesler-Raymond would be a very potent line forcing teams to choose either put there best shutdown pair against them or the Sedins.

I don't think anyone denies that, but "10x the player Burrows" is just a tad much.

Sharp is clearly the better player, and the 2nd round pick is small compensation compared to getting the far superior player.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume they would giggle and hang up the phone laughing at the idiocy of Stan Bowman.

This. Not to mention Dunc would whoop his arse as soon as he got of the limo in front of the UC.

I've said it before but Hawks would be crazy to let Sharp go.

EDIT: Why is it all the worst Canuck posters stick to the main board?

Burrows isn't better than Sharp. There's a reason we're giving up the 2nd.
