see that Hossa? that's how you lift a puck when you shoot...
I honestly have to ask this (and I'm half tempted to create a poll on it) but is there a more useless player than Hossa on a breakaway? Not only did he slow down towards the end, but he was already to the right of Belfour, there's no way he was going to be able to tuck it around him. Steve Sullivan's goal last night (the night before?) showed everyone how to do it. Beautiful backhand. I swear, after that play, I was flashing back to Game 2 against the Leafs in 2001, where Hossa had 2 partial breakaways.

BTW, I'm pretty sure Alfie tucked it in 5-hole.

Now, can the PLEASE score on the PP???

I agree with you completely. The Leafs are doing it, but aren't so obvious (meaning they aren't tackling players like we are), they're just hooking them and basically water-skiing. That's harder to spot than a guy going down like a ton of bricks.

Hossa is terrible on the breakaways, just atrocious.
I was shocked and amazed that he converted in game 1, but that probably had more to do with what Belfour did.

Man, we really needed that goal..hopefully it snowballs from here on in.

we need to score on this powerplay so the leafs can open up so hossa gets another crack at the breakaway!

Well the whining about the reffing is starting already! Whenever the penalties go against the Leafs - in that they get more than the other team - there's a problem with the refs.

Give me a break.

You guys have such wonderful puck control on the power-play. You seem to have possession for one minute and a half all the time. I don't understand why you don't take more shots or have someone in front of the net (Chara for instance). With the Maple leafs you are guaranteed a goodly number of power-play's. You should be taking advantage of them.

Don Cherry confuses me. When Ron Maclean comment on Roberts' "acting" Cherry responded by saying if it works you have to do it. But right afterwards he attacks Kovalev (sp?) for the apparent dive he took in the 1994 (I think) playoffs that allowed the Rangers to eliminate the Nordiques. What I can't figure out about this whether this is Cherry's North American bias, his Leaf bias, or both.

agreed. we like to "dick" around , as a certain coach would say, passing to each other until we can get the odd shot from the perimeter. It's very frustrating. It can work beautifully if we can move it quickly, but the last few games it seems that we are passing in slow motion.

The difference is we don't pressure the person with the puck while ottawa is on the PP while they do pressure are players when we are on the PP
