Dane Phaneuf Hits Hailey Wickenheiser

Dion's 15 year old brother takes out Hailey Wickenheiser out along the boards in a non-contact game and she goons him. Did anyone see this yet?

Dane's my hero. I really hope the kid gets drafted by his hometown, unlike certain family members.

Saw that last week. Pretty funny to see Wickenheiser go after him.

He's a Phaneuf...that pretty much seals the deal. He's going to be a Flame player. Sutter is going to hug him at the draft.

I don't care what anyone else says, that's good stuff. The best women can't really maintain sanity against 15-yr old boys? No comment

They've been doing it for years, playing AAA Midget teams is better competition than pretty much every woman's team out there (and you can't go playing the U.S. 12 times a year).

This year the games actually count towards the Midget AAA standings so they actually count for something on the boy's side to increase the competitiveness even more.

The real story here isn't the fact that the Canadian team is playing AAA competition. It's not that Dane Phaneuf hit Wickenheiser.

The real story here is that Dion Phaneuf can actually smile. He was grinning like an idiot during that entire interview!! You could tell he was even holding back his laughter too...

Out of curiousity how do the woman's team do against the Midget AAA teams? AAA is a pretty competitive league everytime I've watched it over the years. I would think the guys win most of the time.

There was a write up in a local paper here in Airdrie, I think the game was against the UFA Bisons.

They women lost 6-0 or 6-1.

So if the Oilers pick higher, and are in perfect position to select him, he's going to become a Flame?

Perfect logic buddy. Thanks for coming out.

Anyways, he's not up to be drafted for another three years, a lot can change between now and then.

The little brother of an NHLer hit a girl I've never heard of. Not sure if I'm even capable of caring less.

Well, what if the Flames pick higher? What if the Oilers pick in the usual top 10 and he's not close to top 10 material, they pick him? What if the Oiler hand out another $4.5m offer sheet and loose their 1st rounder, how will the Oilers pick him?

I don't know what you were trying to get at with your question there, nice try anyway.

They're 12-3.

Much better than I thought they were doing actually. But they are playing against 15-17 year olds.

Like I said, a lot can change in three years.

But you're implying that Sutter's motives are to select him because of the name on the back, which is pure idiocy if you ask me.

I'm sure that's not playing against the very best 15-17 yr olds. They'd get effing bombed.
