I ain't !
You must not have watched Carter much last year, because his play is very similar this year, except he is passing more.(which im sure anti-Carters complained he didnt do last year)

You know what's surprising? That Briere didn't get a penalty for that cross check to the neck.

On another note, Giroux and JVR are not seeing the ice enough. Only 13 and 11 minutes for them. The kids are playing well, they should be seeing 15-16 minutes. Andreas Nodl should not be out there more than JVR

Richards makes me cringe when he goes into the zone and tries to make play. Just shoot the ****ing puck Mike.

Tim P.s post-game article is up, no mention of Timonen however.

Radio just mentioned that they have not been issued an update either.

well I intended Cote to be the new Jones, but he can't even crack an injury riddled line up.

Any word on Timonen or will we have to wait till morning?

Saying Carter isn't trying is a copout and shows a lack of understanding of what you are watching. It's flat out wrong.

Alright , thanks for the lesson. The Jeff Carter that I and Team Canada brass saw last year was a fluke. He is playing just as well this year. I guess I will shoot down Laliberte so that you don't get you panties in a bunch. And since I don;t understand what I am watching, what have I been watching and playing for the last 33 years of it aint hockey o wise one ??

Where is the Jeff Carter support thread? I'm ready to sign.

Last I checked he knocked in 46 goals last season and he is on pace for more then a PPG this year, but Jones is outta here so it's gotta be someone. It's the little guys with mediocre talent who have to skate hard and hit hard every shift in this 82 game season to maintain their 3rd and 4th line spots and have the fans bow to them. Scottie Upshall was beloved on these boards and he was barely a 3rd liner. "Upshall skates hard down the line and throws a mediocre shot on net to the goalies chest!! What EFFORTTT!!!" "Boy that upshall gives 110% every night." "He's so dreamy "

It's 82 games, let the man pace himself for this lazy 90 point season.

Yeah I looked at the TOI on the Flyers website and it said he only played two shifts in the third if I recall correctly.

Great. I think we'll have all our call-ups the next two times we play the pens. 0-3 is an awlful way to start a season series. Especially to the corporate champions.

This. I think Inebriator is the only one talking any sense. How can anyone call it garbage?? A goal is a goal. So when you guys talk about having a 40 goal scorer, remember to subtract all the garbage goals off that you seem to be so ashamed of and pass off as nothing...

Yes, we know he isn't playing well, more specifically lazy when i've been able to tune in... but he kept the team in the game and is contributing at a near PPG pace. What more really can you complain about?? Maybe this will be the game that sparks him??

He doesn't look any different except he is trying to involve his linemates more, which was a major criticism last year.

For the most part, yes. I would love to see what people would think of him if he had half as many points.

Theres no other way to rebut the ridiculous "Carter doesn't try" tirades

Never missed a game, and I saw a much more determined Carter that was skating way harder for loose pucks and playing much stronger in the defensive zone. And I am by no means anti anyone on this team, just am very critical of guys I expect alot out of.

What people need to do is: not focus on just bashing Carter.(or any player for that reason)

Carter had bad turnovers
so did Richards
so did Briere
Emery let in soft goals
Boucher let in a soft goal
Giroux kept dangling at the blueline and causing offsides
Refs sucked
No one could make an outlet until the third

Face it we have more than 1 thing wrong with this team.

Theres one really, really big thing wrong with this team that could help shore up many of those issues, namely the first 3 and the last one. Only problem is that on this board people only want to talk about it when we lose

He was, but I respect what i saw him trying to do out there. He was making a concerted effort to get things going offensively but he's young and learning. I thought he has looked good despite the problems at the blueline

I liked that when he finally does shoot, he gets the shot through. That is why it is so frustrating when he rarely takes the shot.
