I do agree as well.

I was just directing the topic away from Carter a bit.

Part of Giroux only having 13 minutes is due to him being gone for 5. How did JVR wind up with only 11 minutes, it seemed like he played more than that. When your down half of the game, he needs to be on the ice for twice that amount. He must have done something that Stevens wasn't happy with. On a side note, Nodl looked really good tonight, is it possible for a player to be better in the NHL than they are in the AHL? Ross looked good as well. That line was probably our best line through the first half of the game.

Yeah, he definitely has the forsberg level of pass first mentality

Good point about the fighting major, I forgot about that. No explanation on the JVR thing. He should have played more.

Either Stevens should be fired for not telling him to shoot more or Giroux should be benched for not listening to the coaches. I don't understand why he doesn't shoot more and why they don't tell him too.

I turned it off after Boucher's gross five-hole goal on the wrap-around.

I finally get the availability to watch games in whole and they've been absolutely awful. Generally this type of frustration doesn't get woken up in November. I'm tired of this team's ********.

Face it we have more than 1 thing wrong with this team.
Well said. Except not all those things are constant problems. For instance, Emery and Boucher were problems this game, but haven't been for the entire season. They're not a problem with this team, at least not right now. It's almost expected that Briere give up turnovers, especially when the whole team does. He's been one of our best forwards offensively all year long and we all knew that he was somewhat of a defensive liability heading into the season.

I mean, Briere was literally the only reason we were even in the game today. Without him it would have been a blowout.

Richards and Carter do need to step up in a major way. Neither of them are leading this team very well. Both may be putting up points, but that doesn't mean that they're playing up to expectations. Two different things.

Giroux has frustrated me at points sometimes. He's reminded me of Richards in that he just gets too fancy with the puck sometimes. I'm fine with his play overall throughout the year, but he always seems to over-due it or be a step ahead of his line-mates. His shot is a little weak so far as well.

From Philly.com: Timonen and Hartnell

http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/f..._injuries.html

More injuries?!
A doctor inside the Flyers’ locker room last night after the game was seen examining an X-Ray. From where I was standing, I could not make out the image or body part. I was told that it looked like a hand.

I hate to stir the pot, make rumors or speculate, but there are a few different light bulbs popping in my head. (Shocking, right?) For one, Scott Hartnell had his hand wrapped in ice after the game. Kimmo Timonen was pretty much absent from the ice the last five or six minutes.

But Timonen seemed fine postgame.

For now, there is no news. For the Flyers, that’s good news.

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, via text message, said that “everyone is healthy” and there were “no injuries to report.”

That could easily change between now and Tuesday evening. The Flyers were scheduled for a 2:00 p.m. (EST) practice on Long Island.

That’s going to be a rough skate if they have it. The Flyers weren’t scheduled to land in New York until 3:57 a.m. and they still had a 45 minute bus ride to their hotel before they could sleep.

Decided to skip out on most of the third due to the ****** hockeystreams feed.

Richards and Carter have each had a very poor stretch of games (one player's longer than the other's). Three game losing streaks are going to happen, but it's telling how and when the streaks end. The onus is on these two guys to get this team together. Pronger and Lappy were brought in to stabilize the room, but the team relies on Carter and Richards to be their best forwards nigh in and night out and it's not happening right now.

I expect Marty between the pipes for the Isles on Wednesday and I expect the Flyers to embarrass the **** out of him. Finish the road trip with a win over a tenacious Isles team that isn't a pushover anymore. No one likes losing, but you sure can't tell from these players the way the Flyers have played the last two and a half games.

Wow, can't believe they put up two more goals after I left. Unfortunately it did next to nothing except put the L into Boucher's stats rather than Emery's who rightly deserved it :X

Someone's got to shove a boot up their ass and make them wake up.

Holy sh-t. If Hartnell and Timonen are both hurt this is getting out of hand. Sounds like from that article that signs are good. But damn, can we catch a break, please?

Definitely not Ray's best game night. Gotta make some of those saves. D was giving up too many opportunities. Gross. I'd love to see us get healthy and start giving effort like we did the last 10 or so mins.

LOLL if Hartnell and Timonen are hurt... lets just say more Phantoms... Now do you call up Maroon or some other joke AHL player who wont contribute at all?

JVR-Richards-Carter
Maroon-Giroux-Briere
Lappy-Pyorala-Carcillo
Nodl-Ross-Laliberte

Pronger-Carle
Parent-Coburn (oh god...)
Syvret-Bartulis (oh ****...)
Mormina (most likely)

Lets go AHL team?

EDIT: Actually forget Maroon, since its Weds and we wont know if those guys are hurt till later today, my bet is they go with Cote.

JVR-Richards-Carter
Pyorala-Giroux-Briere
Carcillo-Lappy-Laliberte
Nodl-Ross-Cote

OMG AHL team lol..

If Hartnell is actually hurt, we will see Maroon since he is also a LW and there would be a top 6 roll for him,but there is no use for Maroon on the 4th line, he is way too slow. Ross and Nodl looked good last night

(Didnt see your post before I edited but...)

Maroon wouldnt play on the fourth line last night. Thats when he takes the spot next to Giroux. What I would have done...

Hartnell-Richards-Pyorala
JVR-Carter-Briere
Maroon-Giroux-Laliberte
Carcillo-Ross-Lappy

I didnt say Ross or Nodl looked bad, but they arent going to contribute points wise.

It was sarcasm lol. I meant as if this team doesnt have problems already. Your head ok? You used to recognize that stuff

But Homer said they both are fine but one had his hand rapped in ice and the other didnt play the last 10 mins or so of the game. So Id wait till later today or tomorrow before we actually know.

I don't know how you guys can blame Jeff Carter and Mike Richards when we gave up 5 ******* GOALS! How do you win hockey games if you give up 5 goals??

Answer is - you don't.

This is downright embarrassing. Missing 2 top-6 forwards and a top-4 defensemen is terrible. Not to mention missing our arguably best bottom-6 guys. Plus, no guarantee that the injuries stop here either! With Carter and Richards playing poorly and turning over the puck, we could look like the Islanders or Hurricanes in no time.

Get well soon
