How about this

To Hawks
D Garnet Exelby
C Jiri Tlusty

To Maple Leafs
D Brent Sopel
LW Billy Sweatt
Flames 2nd round pick (Should be better then Hawks)
Conditional 4th round pick in 2011 if Tlusty plays in 25+ games as a Hawk this season

No thanks. I'm not a fan of trading for Sopel just to acquire a 2nd round pick. Billy Sweatt + Conditional 4th doesn't make up the difference if you're adding Tlusty to the deal even though I like Sweatt as a prospect.

Same thing was said about Brouwer. He can play on any of the top three lines and is on target for 25 goals.

The same thing was said about Brandon Bochenski and he's on pace for 42 goals.

Are you really comparing Beach to Brandon Bochenski????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

Also Brouwer is not on pace for 42 goals. He has 6 in 22 games. 20-25 is what he should get.

how about a bigger trade that helps both teams

to Toronto
Campbell
Sopel
prospect or pick (would probably have to be a first to have toronto eat so much cap space)

to Chicago
Kaberle
Stajan

It seems as though Burke is trying to upgrade his scoring, unless there is a proven scorer (Sharp/Versteeg) that were getting back i think any trade between the two teams has less of a chance then an ice cube in a deep fryer.

You also must think Chicago has stated even if they get rid of Sopels contract they would still need to clear between 1-2 million to fit the 3 new contracts (Kane, Keith, Toews) under the cap...

This may mean that some players from Chicago may be moved that are necessary to keep your stars on your team, which sharp fits right in this category.

Keep in mind that any trade between the Leafs and Blackhawks will be a salary trade, not a hockey trade...

Bochenski is on pace for 42 goals with Norfolk.

Comparing Beach to Bochenski is about as valid as comparing Beach to Brouwer; that is to say, not very. Somebody gives perfectly valid criticisms of Beach, you say that Brouwer had the same issues - but look at him now! It's specious reasoning and the kids are right to laugh at you.

Bochenski's AHL stats are relative to a point made about an NHL player how?? Specious reasoning you say? LOL Brouwer and Beach are similar type players big, bruising power forward types not even remotely similar to Bochenski. Yes Beach was a high pick and Brouwer not. However the criticism was made that he couldn't skate and thus wouldn't do anything in the NHL. He worked at it and is turning into something. The most basic point I am making is that skating deficiencies can be worked on and improved upon and Brouwer is my example.

The only one being laughed at is you for siting Brandon Bonchenski's AHL stats as a basis for any argument.

Maybe he was just dangling an apple to the Leafs??

Anybody hear any gossip concerning Leafs/Hawks in the intermission talks?

They said Scotty lives in Florida and scouts the games in TB and Fla for the Hawks. Hawks fans, how often is he seen in Chicago?
