Grier may be back Wed/ some line tweaking by Ruff

http://www.wgr550.com/Grier-thinks-he-s-ready/5740355

Quote:
Mike Grier alternated reps at RW with Adam Mair today in the arena. The skated on a line with Tim Kennedy and Jochen Hecht. Grier looked like he's finally feeling better from a groin injury. Grier said, "It was a good day, it felt pretty good so I think I should be ready to go by Wednesday. It's been a frustrating ten days or so. We had some tough games and I'd like to be out there to help the guys so it's been frustrating."

Lindy Ruff said Pat Kaleta was given a maintenance day and should be OK to play against the Caps too.

Drew Stafford was back to work and was on a line with Tim Connolly and Clarke MacArthur. Thomas Vanek was back with Derek Roy. Jason Pominville was the RW on that line.
So we may see

Vanek/Roy/Pommer
Mac/Connolly/Stafford
Hecht/Kennedy/Grier
Ellis/Goose/Kaleta

Has Vanek/Roy/Pommer been a line before? That should be interesting.

We can call that line the Whipping Boys for now.

I will say this, if they struggle, I can't wait to read whose fault it was

I think they were for a brief period as Sabres, but IIRC, I think they were on a line together while they were on the Amerks.

I would prefer that Roy and Kennedy switched spots.

This combination, this one right here... this one could be the one that wins it all.

By their powers combined...

It's the quiet line. Missing the "Sh".

I am Captain Failsauce!

Though I do like Mac - Connolly - Stafford together and the bottom six is fine as is with Grier back. Would like to see more of Ennis...

I'll be interested in seeing the top 2 lines if they stay this way. MacArthur-Connolly-Stafford has a good combination of size, speed, passing, and shooting. It seems like it might work. The top line puts some of our best players together with Vanek-Roy-Pominville. Hopefully they can gel, as that would give us a solid line that can score. Plus Pominville shoots from everywhere so Vanek should be able to get some tips and/or rebounds.

Did they get rid of the high sticking rules? Otherwise Pominville may need to learn to shoot.

We could move the net 6 inches to the left.

Ruff is a ******. How many times is he going to mix and match the same top 6 forwards??? Get Goose and another forechecker in the top 6 (Grier, Ellis, or Kaleta)

"Vanek and Roy not work, so me break up... now me put back together... mmm me hungry"

I agree, Roy-Ennis would be a dynamic combo, even if a bit small.
