Confirmation that Bob Murray is an idiot? I hate the Ducks, but (and this is a HUGE BUT) if this rumor has substance to it, than that team is really going down the gutter. Very unfortunate.

Its been pretty well established that Campbell has little, no, or negative value. In other words, I don't think Chicago could get much beyond a third for him at best. Despite this you think a project forward and a very late first is going to get one of the best young forwards in the league, who is very capable on either wing?

Try Sharp+Barker+1st as a starting point, Anaheim could still turn you down.

The "source" of the speculation is Randy Youngman (http://www.ocregister.com/articles/p...cott-year.html), and it's really only a small blurb at the end of an article mostly speculating how Chris Paul could be a Laker. He also once published an article where he debated if the Ducks could go 82-0.

This article also still gives me headaches: http://www.ocregister.com/sports/duc...s-roloson.html

With Nieds retiring after the year the Ducks could use an offensive dman like Campbell in his spot.

Beach is not a project forward. He is on track to be in NHL next season and a late 1st is still a quality pick

I would think his time as Blackhawks GM would be enough

All this because on the Hot Stove on Saturday they said he had turned down a contract offer....he won't be traded.

Should have clarified on Beach, he is a project to become a good 2nd line/borderline first line forward. I live in Spokane, so I see him with some frequency. I agree they could use Campbell (though they would likely wait until the draft), or once Niedermayer actually retires. However, the three assets combined are not even close to bringing back Ryan. He already is a first line forward, and he fits in with their other top forwards perfectly.

Highly unlikely, but if a young defenseman of equal stature is out there, I can see the Ducks entertaining the thought of trading him. i.e. Ryan Suter/Shea Weber. No, not Tomas Kaberle.

That would give us four first round picks at the next draft...

Not exactly what we would be looking for.

If the Ducks were actually wasting a thought on trading him the only valid starting point is an outstanding young defenseman.
