Says here that the Devils were in the running for this Butler kid from UNH. Too bad. Seems like he would've been a pretty good pick up.
I wouldn't get too worked up about it. The kid was a senior... he should be scoring a lot by now. We missed out on Matt Gilroy last year. Everyone was upset. Now the Rags are paying him $1.75 million cap hit to sit in the stands and watch.

I think the NCAA is improving. We had a bit of a dry spell with NHL talent early in the decade, but I think we'll be back to some decent yearly contributions to the NHL.

Leading the nation in goals when you play in Hockey East is a big deal.

He's put up good numbers for his whole career, anyway.

well I would take a dman over a winger which we are full of in the farm.

Are there any NCAA FA of note this year?

Wellman from UMass and Butler from UNH are gone, but I'd like to see us get Scrivens from Cornell.

I think a lot of these kids feel they can come in and play right away, and they sign with teams that let them do just that. Butler signed with Ottawa because they'll give him a chance to play right away and that's what he wanted. I could never see Lou making such a promise and I don't think he'd throw a college kid in the lineup with only a handful of games remaining before the playoffs.

It's too bad that these kids don't think ahead a little bit better...

If Scrivens is smart, he'll go to a team whose defensive system will protect him, like Cornell's did. Oh wait...

Bobby Butler is NHL ready right now.

But you're right, Lou isn't about to toss someone into the fire like that, and I'm sure he made that clear to him. Whatever, Ottawa is fine with playing him and he deserves it. You'll never meet a more humble kid. Everyone on campus is so happy for him.

I think he's gonna play Thursday.

Hit the weights and up that protein intake, Gelinas. We're expecting big things next year.

Now that his season is over, he's not eligible to go to Lowell, is he?

Good, so hopefully we'll see Lowell sign him to an ATO soon.

Quick review on the Devils European prospects. Got some great info on Sopanen, one of the lesser known Devils prospects.

Yayo is making a serious run at Zach's fangirls. Could split the team apart.

Is it just me or does the Josefson "report card" looks like the carbon copy of someone we already on our roster and his name is Travis Zajac.

Am I wrong about this ?!?!?!

A solid player with a very good 2 way game that needs to shoot more and is hard on the boards even if he doesn't destroy his opponent... Looks like a Zajac clone to me.
