Give Tambo some time. A GM should have three years to build a team.

And Quinn has enough on his plate; he doesn't need to be the GM.

Let the culture change happen. These guys have a plan; let them see it through.

He is looking for good deals and only good deals. He would not go on any radio show and say what he is really thinking or what they really need. It would be stupid for any GM to do so with the media today. He well make a deal when there is a deal to be made. He is A very cerebral GM looking out for the long term interests of the club. He well make a deal this year but not tell someone else is willing as well.

If your wanting to get mad at somebody get mad at the other 29 GMs who are having problems giving the Oilers a top line forward or a top shut down D men. It takes two to tango and it rings true in Tambos plight to make the oil better.

So your rebuttal is, a coach would know what a gm should know. So if we were to hire Quinn as GM and he hired say, Keenan as a coach, theoretically according to you, Keenan should be GM afterwards?

You would strip Moreau as captain right now, and give it to Souray risking a huge distraction of the team's already fragile psyche.

A tough stay-at-home defenceman - I think our D is decent especially with Smid's emergence, Souray's return, and surprisingly Staios has shown some worth compared to Strudwick and Peckham.

I feel sorry for fans not able to see the bigger picture. We are handcuffed by our payroll thanks to Kevin Lowe.

Could we trade him for a draft pick?

You think there's a GM out there stupid enough to take a declining Moreau and his 2 Mil Salary for the remainder of this and next season? hell, let's dump Nilsson too then. Easier said than done.

Patience friend... Rome wasn't built in a day.

New york Islanders have 16 million in cap.Why can't we trade him to them for a 4-6th round pick?

If Moreau is so bad, why would the Islanders trade him for a draft pick?

Oh My God. Are you brand new? Why the eff would a team take on a struggling player just to fill cap space?

Why is it Calgary can trade Vandermeer who is 2.3 mill cap hit.We thought can't trade Moreau who is 2.0 for a simple late draft pick.

Is this the same Phoenix that has 2 of their top defensemen injured?

If we can't trade him for a pick but Calgary can trade Vandermeer to Phoenix,Moreau is then even worse then what we think he is.

Jim Vandermeer is 29, relatively young and probably plateaued at his level now. Technically he's your stay at home defenceman you are asking for LOL.
Moreau (34) is on the decline... I don't know what's worse, your grammar or hockey knowledge.

This isn't NHL10, trades don't happen everyday at the simple press of a button.

Calling somebody a "******" probably won't get this thread anywhere. I'm curious to see if this team can stay 90% healthy. I want to see if they can repeat any of the success at the start of the year.

They still need a shutdown dman though. I wonder if their play int heir own zone is ever going to improve because it's been the exact same for the past 3 years even with a full set of healthy dmen.

Yet this same Phoenix team managed to beat Philadelphia.

Agree, I wish some fans could see the big picture ... Tambo inherited this salary mess from Lowe... 2.5Mil to a player that went nuts for us in the playoffs and since that contract has done nothing. Yes the circumstances are unfortunately and beyond his control but that's 1 contract.

5.5 Mil for player who has never reached 55 points ... what annoys me more than anything else about this contract is, he was coming off a huge surgery and still had one more year left remaining on his contract. I understand Lowe didn't want to lose him but this is what happened after the backlash from the Ryan Smyth debacle.

anyways.. the contracts go on and on... Tambo inherited this, give him some time to amend.

I agree. People loved Kyle Brodziak and yet he did nothing when he was on the ice. People were really upset when he was traded but they didn't see the big picture. It opened up spots for guys like Brule, Stone, Jaques to bring that edge to the squad. Right now Kyle Brodziak would be Quinns whipping boy.

You make it sound like he's a horrible GM. He's not. This is only his second year.
