Stone and Nilsson close to returning?

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but Oiler's website says that they were both out there at practice today.

I'm sure once Stone is healthy they'll plug him back in.

Not so sure with Nilsson - can't really see who he'd displace, unless Reddox/Potulny really suck it up the next few games. They're certainly not going to scratch captain Moreau either to get Nilsson in there instead.

I think the oilers are actively trying to find Nilsson a new home

I have a feeling Nilsson is pretty much done here. If he does see time it will likely be because a) no takers, and b) the team desperately needs a warm body because of the injury body count.

I just want to see what this team can do once we get all of our players back from injury and the coaches can make the line-up how they see fit. It worked for us at the beginning of the year.

So what will the line-up look like now once Stone gets back in? Who stays in out of Reddox and Potulny?

Does Potulny play Center at all?

If he did I would love to see lines something like this...

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Jacques-Gagner-O'Sullivan
Cogliano-Brule-Stone
Moreau-Potulny-Stortini

I just think that in order for Cogliano to get some confidence back and find his scoring again he needs to get some line-mates that will help him more than Moreau and Stortini.

We could very well be losing Reddox soon if this is the case... Someones bound to pick him up off waivers after his performance up here

That will be unfortunate. But we have a lot of players to come back from injury yet so eventually we probably won't miss him as much.

Pisani, Pouliot and Comrie will still be out.

Losing Reddox is inconsequential. I think Nilsson would be waived first and possibly even sent down. Someone would take him on recall.

Nilsson...Who cares.

Reddox and Potulny have easily usurped little Bobby.

Stone's return is a welcome one.

Whats the lowest draft pick you would take to get rid of Nilsson?

I would love a 3rd... but nilsson at 2 mil might be close to negative trade value until he proves he actually HAS potential.

maybe negative is a bit much... but still

I'm sooooo looking forward to seeing Jacques and Stone feeding off of each other and pasting the opposition into the boards time and time again.

I don't think he has to clear waivers unless he's played a certain number of games. Correct?

Correct. The number is 10 games so we're getting close.

I never expected Torres to get us anything worth value, and he got us Brule

Who knows, maybe Nilsson can fetch us Mueller

He will likely also be sent down to Springfield for a conditioning stint.

I thought he had to clear waivers after this years training camp when he was cut...?

And he did. If you call a player who has already cleared back up for a game or two you can send them back down without consequence. If I'm not mistaken the rules is after either 10 games/30 days on the pro roster you become waiver eligible again.
