Definitely a good idea

I see the Oilers pulling out a 4-2 win tonight, especially with Smyth and Stoll on the sidelines. It will be interesting to see Loktionov in action tonight, but I doubt he'll make much of an impact.

Here's hoping for some quicker passing tonight. We seem to have a lackadaisical attitude towards passing of late. Slow passes allow forecheckers more time to get to the puck receiver or into the passing lane. Rarely, out side of Hemsky and Lubo, do any of our passes have any kind of zip and accuracy. That needs to change.

Go Oil Go we need the 2p tonight

We win in a shootout. In a move of sheer brilliance, Quinn pencils in Strudwick as the third shooter who scores from the blueline with a slapshot along the ice.

Not possible. Struds doesn't know how to utilize his slapper like that.

Now we got it right.

I've been putting everything on long shots in an attempt to get back to even. Hasn't worked out too well. Good thing I never gamble any real money.

Though Strudwick was more fun but why not Smid!

There is your gamble

Who was the player that came out of the penalty box, had a breakaway and fell down? Was that Smid?

Ferguson did it against Patrick Roy.

I predict O'Sullivan gets benched in the first period and doesn't see another minute of ice time for the rest of the night.

I think he'll be excited to play his former team and do well. He likely won't get benched because he's good enough away from the puck. I'm calling a 3-2 win in regulation.

5-2 Oilers win.

I'm feeling it tonight. Penner and Hemsky with excellent games.

This is off topic to the GDT, but I don't think it warrants it's own thread. But does anybody know who the last Oiler to be suspended was? I was trying to find this on Google, but I could not find any recent Oiler suspensions.

It's too long ago. I believe it was Ulanov in 1999. I believe I read somewhere that the Oilers have the longest streak in the NHL without getting a suspension.

I don't even think the Oil got a point in that game though. Up by one, with less than three to go LA pulls the goalie real early and score twice, thanks in part to Smyth icing the puck. Good God Salo was so useless, until he turned into Gilbert.

EDIT:Link

I'm so happy there is a game tonight, I'm spending the night in Manning and need something to keep me entertained all night.

Hopefully we get a win so it doesn't ruin my already crappy mood lol.
