Keller recalled

http://www.pressconnects.com/apps/pb...Id=personaDest

Mike Brodeur has some company up with the Ottawa Senators this morning.

Ryan Keller, who leads the American Hockey League with 13 goals, has been recalled. He will be replaced here in Binghamton for now by Max Gratchev, who has seven goals and 11 assists through 15 games with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals.

As soon as I get more information, I'll post it here. But the NHL's Senators are playing in New Jersey tonight, and if Keller gets in, it will mark his NHL debut.

I guess this means Kovelev isn't back yet then?

Interesting.

Are we in need of another forward in the lineup? Kovalev (who may return tonight) was the only one out... Perhaps this is an indicator of an upcoming trade?

I've heard real good things about him. He's small, but he goes to the dirty areas consistently, which is what has made him so successful so far in the AHL. Could compliment our top-6 well. A gem of a find by the Murrays.

hmmmmm I don't think anyone else is hurt, besides Volchenkov and Kovalev being away, maybe Spezza is sitting out????

Is Cheechoo about to ride the press box?

Curious, I wonder who is out....

Spezza and Alfie both seem to have nagging injuries - maybe one is skipping the front half of a back to back?

I guess, but it still doesn't explain why Keller is called up...

My guess:

Either someone is benched (Cheechoo), someone is hurt and not playing (Spezza) or someone is traded (Shannon).

It would be a good time to trade him if the other team seen him play in the third of the last game

CC, please bench Cheechoo, except possibly Shannon he is the worst forward on the team.

He needs a wake up call.

so the plot thickens... this is exciting! possible trade? Spezza doesn't seem right with his back though.. maybe he sits this one out and Kovalev is still not back yet?

Considering it's a back-to-back, Spezza might not be able to play both games?

EDIT: Senschirp says "(UPDATE 11:15 AM)- The word is Ryan Keller will take the place of Mike Fisher in the line up this evening."

Fisher left practice yesterday but Clouston said it was just maintenance.

Oh well, lets see what type of character this team has with Kovalev, Fisher, Volchenkov and Leclaire.

The injury bug has hit!

I was going to go this game tonight but I couldnt get off work, blows. This is the perfect time for Spezz-dispenser to unleash some O and net a couple goals, need him to step up the O game tonight.
