I was hardly able to get any sleep last night I was so excited. Can 6 hours from now come any more quickly?

4-2 Hawks.

Any thoughts on putting Sharpie back in the circle?

Sharks fan here in peace. Our beat writer says Boyle is in for the game tonight barring a last-minute setback.
Quote:
“Too big of a game,” [Boyle] said of the matchup of the Western Conference’s two top teams. “Can’t miss that.”
Good luck tonight. Looking forward to another hard fought match.

Hope Huet plays like the last games... not like the first. But i think he will play like a 6 Mio Goalie

I'd rather have Sharp centering than Versteeg. He's not much better at faceoffs, but he's got good endurance and can forecheck and backcheck very well. I'd like to see him as the 2nd line center til' Bolland gets back.

How many extra points in the standings do you get for #1 in faceoffs?

Hossa?! Please be rusty!

Good luck guys! I really love your city and your team.

Also, I was wondering...When the Sharks were at the United Center a couple weeks ago, I was very impressed with your classy national anthem. It gave me goosebumps just watching it on TV, I can't imagine what it does for your players! Do you always cheer through the whole thing like that? I saw the Sharks at UC 2 seasons ago and don't remember that happening.

Also this top line matchup will be great. McLellan has been matching first lines lately.
Marleau-Thornton-Heatley vs Hossa-Toews-Kane oh boy!

How beneficial is it to lose faceoffs? And on what grounds do you think Versteeg is a better option at center than Sharpie?

Disagree.
First, face-offs are very crucial to winning. You loose enough and you'll start loosing games because of it. Has it hurt us to this point, no but that doesn't mean it won't.

Now I'm still waiting for a response in the link below (last page) if you really are comparing Beach to Bochenski and how you figured Brouwer was on pace for 42 goals.

Flyers fan here, but the Hawks are my "west-team", haha.

Wish I could watch this game, but instead I get to enjoy the Flyers players who are not injured/suspended play the Islanders.

Hossa!

Yes. It is the best National Anthem at a sporting event experience you'll find. It's been that way for many many years - going back to the old Chicago Stadium.

If you ever have a chance to go to a Hawks game at the UC - get there early so you don't miss the Anthem. If you don't get goosebumps, you're either a commie or you've already assumed room temperature.

Detroit said they could feel the bench shaking beneath them during the National Anthem during last years playoffs. It gets loud and I agree with the previous poster, goosebumps will come. It really ramped up during Desert Storm and is great now that the Hawks have consecutive sell outs for over a year.

Looking like a good game already. I can't believe we have 2 pages already before the game starts.

I'm a bit worried about tonights game though. SJ will be looking for payback, and we gotta lose sometime soon. Yes it we keep playing our game the way we have been, we'll come out on top.

Yeah I went to the game against the Sharks when Hull and Mikita were honored. I don't remember it happening but I don't doubt that it did. Keep it up!

I'm with ya buddy. Flyers are my east team since the girlfriend is from Philly. You guys have to learn to stop taking such awful penalties. It's painful to watch.

It would be something for us to sweep this road trip, wouldn't it be?

Of course, we'd want for it to continue at home as well!

It's important to win important faceoffs. It's important to have a guy that is good at winning important faceoffs. It's not important to have a high faceoff winning percentage as a team. By that I mean it is less important than pretty much anything else you can think of.

Even so, the Hawks have an incredibly high faceoff winning percentage as a team, second best in the entire league. If Q would consider rearranging the roster in order to jump into first place, that first place must carry some kind of standings boost. Maybe it's the 14th tiebreaker for playoff seeding?

Sharpie has been much, much, much better and scored many, many more goals since he moved to wing, yet you (bttriad) want to move him back.. why, exactly? Steeger hasn't looked out of place in the middle and he's a much better puck distributor than Sharp. It would be good, flexibility-wise, for him to get good at playing center.

I'm gonna have to agree with massivegoonery here. Sharpie even has stated that he'd much rather be a winger instead of a center. Steeger doesn't mind where he plays. It seems his production doesn't drop when he does play center.

I respect your opinions. I'd rather have Sharp at center primarily because his superior forechecking and backchecking and Steeger's faceoff ineptitude. Though Versteeg isn't a slouch defensively, it's still my preference to have Sharpie centering the second line til' Bolland gets back.

The way I see it, regardless of Sharp/Versteeg and who's better, if the faceoff IS really important, lets say top of the circle in your zone, with 30 seconds left, your team up by one, and the net empty on the far side. It doesn't matter what your 2nd/3rd best are doing percentage wise, you should only be putting out your best (i.e. Toews).
