Hoping to see a team that learned from their performance Tuesday night and is hungry to get back on the winning path. A real tough opponent tonight with excellent goaltending, a tight defensive system, and a ton of grit and moxie.
With Arnott's status still unknown and Ward out, there are opportunities for players to step up and shine. Boyd took advantage of such an opportunity Sunday and helped us win in St. Louis, but I didn't feel that we saw enough guys wanting to step up and lead the team Tuesday night which lead to some sloppy hockey and eventually a 3-1 loss. Tootoo has been one of the team's leaders in Corsi rating since the Olympic break, but has been one of the guys receiving the lowest amount of ice time at even-strength throughout. O'Reilly is getting a prime top-six opportunity right now and has to take advantage to keep himself in the lineup. Spaling has to show some offensive production and it would be nice for our veteran core guys (Sullivan, Dumont, Legwand, Erat) to step up and get on the scoresheet as well.
Always an anxious time waiting to see how the team responds to a loss...I'm really excited to see how we come out tonight...
For some reason I think the preds will bounce back and find a way to win this one. Sure Tuesday was a disappointment, however the last time we had a major disappointment (San Jose) we bounced back and won 6 in a row. Im not saying we will start a 6 game win streak tonight but I think we may be able to shut out phoenix (and actually score this time). Preds 1 Coyotes 0 (Erat)
So the preds practiced yesterday for the first time since March 9th.... Maybe thats what they needed. With the lineup changes and line changes, they probably could use a little extra time with their linemates in a low stress situation to iron a few things out. I thought Crispy's "sloppiness" started occurring in small spurts in the St. Louis game and then really hurt us against Dallas.
This one shouldn't be hard to get revved up for. Calgary is playing the Islanders and Detroit is playing the Wild. A loss tonight puts us in a position to get passed by Detroit on saturday night if they win tonight and we lose tonight. We need this one. Go Preds!!!
EDIT: Det plays Min tomorrow night in the second of a back to back for the Wild. Even better

i got to admit with the Flames playing a very winnable game tonight against NYI and the fact Detroit seems unstoppable right now and the Kings and Avs are picking up points. If we lose tonight and CGY wins I will start becoming a little nervous.
Things don't look great for "C" when you look at the progression. I like the suggestion of just ruling him out, so we don't go through the in-or-out thing everyday. It would probably be easier on the team to know definitely he's out for a couple of games.
Just rest him untill just before the playoffs. Give Wilson some time at Center. Sitting on my butt here thinking about all my medical training I do NOT like this habitual cycle with Arnott and concussions. Right now, give him a good amount of time and then let him loose. If he's still off, then it's time for Arnott to consider retirement.
Trying to think of something positive, maybe since we have people injured and are shorthanded the officials will actually make a call when some of the crap happens to our guys. Heck, they may even call an opponents dirty hit in Tootoo's favor for the first time in history since we can't afford to have anyone banged up.
Missed the first half of the first period due to the HF Mods Fantasy Baseball draft (simply lost track of time), but felt that the Preds showed the need to clean up their play with and without the puck in their own end of the ice.
Too many turnovers off the Phoenix forecheck, too much position lost off the wall against the cycle, need a little more grit...
Need more traffic at Bryzgalov. If he sees it, he will stop it. Shoot to create before you force a pass through the defense...
