Explain something to me here?????

Ok So Ribs gets hurt, and cj back him up 100%.

Kovalev gets hurt, and cj comes into the press room, red as a Ketchup, and blames Kovalev, instead of backing him up. You could see the anger on his face, he was absolutely fuming.

Now, too me, something is not right there. Either 1 of two things happened---

1. CJ does not have a strong relationship with Kovalev, so therefore does not care to back him up.

2. CJ is a rookie coach, who cant control his anger, and as a result lashes out at Kovalev.

Now dont get me wrong, i have been a strong believer in cj all season long, and in fact still am. However i cant seem to figure out why cj didn't back up Kovalev. This is a team, and as a team everybody must stick up for each other. In this situation no one was hurt physically, so why wouldnt cj back him up. I mean he could tell Kovalev what ever he wants behind closed doors, but to do say what he did in public is plain wrong.

This bothers me too no end, because i could see this happening again in the future.

Very true, but what ever happened to backing up your team concept. Win or loose, he shouldnt have blasted out in public, he could have done this behind closed doors. Cj of all, knows what kind of media attention this can bring. This is a rookie coach mistake imo.

to tell you the truth, I don't think that CJ is a big fan of Kovalev, no inside scoop here, just a hunch and a feeling I get from him, from last night's reaction to all the line juggling who knows

I could pass over him blaming Kovalev if only he didn't get mad when they asked if Garon could pull a Raycroft, and told the media he would play Theodore. That's just dumb, you back up an overpaid goalie that can't make the saves to make your team win, but you don't back up a player that reacted too strong to a cheapshot. No logic, no respect.

Thats what i dont get. I get the feeling that cj favours certain players. Like 417 said, maybe he does not like Kovalev on a personal level and takes it out on him.

I don't really have a problem with Julien, but there has been some VERY questionable moves he has made. My God, to wait to game 3 to put Kovalev with Koivu, and I don't like Perreault much either, but for God sakes, if you play him that night, use him what he is best for - FACEOFFS. Live and die by your best, play the percentages. If experience has told us anything, cough Carolina cough, use the right faceoff people.
