Olesz and Moore/Leopold make about 4-5M combined. That's only about 2M less than Horcoff.

To get someone like MPS in this organization, I'd seriously consider making the deal even with Horcoff's contract.

I think MPS would fit in GREAT with this team. He's listed a LW which we're short of, and he has speed, which is what this team is built around.

Acquiring him is worth taking on Horcoff's awful contract.

Look what I found on kuklaskorner:

from Pierre LeBrun of ESPN,

• I’m told star goalie Tomas Vokoun, who has one year left on his deal at $6.3 million, will not be made available before March 3 regardless of where the Panthers are in the standings. That’s a situation the team will revisit come June.

That's smart anyway. We can get more for him at the draft. If we miss the playoffs, we probably will look to trade him and try to get an additional 1st. Then sign a cheaper goalie in the offseason and have more money to try to sign a good forward in free agency.

Trade coming?

Update on the Horcoff to Florida deal: Oilers will have to give up a 2nd rounder or another minor player to get it done. Still not close.
11:18 AM Feb 6th from web
Horcoff, 4th round pick to Florida for Olesz, Shore. Something along the lines of those two.

Getting him would be worth taking on Horcoff's contract.

This trade is not going to happen. This guy is not very reliable, just look at his previous post:

Ilya Kovalchuk deal is not imminent but it could happen this week. I do not think New Jersey is in the mix. No Calgary for now.

Given the teams financial situation, in no way do I think they take on Horcoff's ridiculous contract. Im not saying that I dont think they would spend the money (I actually expect them to spend), but not like this.

They're not going to give MPS. No chance in hell. They're in rebuild mode.

By the way, our favorite con man says Calgary has serious interest in David Booth I am told. There is a proposal, but the Panthers will need more than I am hearing. Perhaps they'll trade jaybo back to us.

Nothing. I wouldnt want Bouwmeester back, especially that overpayment of a contract. Regehr would be a great pickup, but unless we can get a forward back (Backlund would be nice), I am not moving Booth.

Yeah, I believe that's exactly what I was saying.

Anyway, merging the other rumor thread to this one as there's no need for it. It's not like it's an extremely credible source. Let's not start a thread for every tweet out there, okay?

Why do people even post Eklund stuff? Not singling you guys out, just saying. The only people who have any credibility are Dreger, Mackenzie, and Lebrun.

I don't understand people take it so seriously. Eklund is entertaining to me, I get a good laugh out of some of the stuff he comes up with. It's just entertainment.

Exactly. I get more upset at the people who pay to get what EK dishes out. P.T. Barnum said a sucker is born every minute. That isn't Barnum's fault nor Ekland's, it's the suckers. Running a scam like Hockey Buzz is a fine example of the American Way of Capitalism.

This thread is specifically for the sort of garbage Eklund's site spews. If people want to post it, they're welcome to. I created this thread so we wouldn't get a multitude of Eklund-sourced rumor threads polluting our forum.
