That, and I just cannot see Jagr being interested in playing in Ottawa. When the Forsberg rumors always came up there was an outside chance of that happening cause of Alfie...but Jagr....nah.

Again if ottawa makes him a good offer he may want to come here.

This.

If Jagr does come back to the NHL it won't be Ottawa. Why would he want to anyway? He's got it made much closer to home.

Very very unlikely. I figure if he was available and ready to come back, Murray would indeed make a call but it wouldn't get past that, just like Forsberg and Sundin before, no different.

Yeah, I don't think Michalek could have the same influence in getting Jagr here as much as Alfies influence to get Forsberg here.

Cause there would be about 5 or 6 other cities he would rather play in before Ottawa for the same dough. And nevermind the city and lifestyle...how bout wanting to play for cup contender like EVERY aging veteran who has the choice where to go. Ottawa would have to be right at the top of the conference or league standings for Jagr to say "Das Ottawa?? Mavybe!"

it is very possible we are one of the 2 teams hed go to. Jagr has said in the pst he appreciated how committed edmonton was in vetting him a few yrs back and would play for them if he returned to the nhl, but with their injury problem he wont be enough to help them this yr and likely would go elsewhere. with ottawas strong start this yr the one thing that would attract jagr would be the opportunity to play with his countryman and buddy michalek. Imagine jagr-spezza-michalek/alfie-fisher-kovalev/cheechoo-regin-foligno/ruutu-kelly-neil/winchester/shannon......michaleks strong start in ottawa could push jagr our direction

I'd prefer the sens be interested in acquiring a defenceman first.

Lifestyle of the city has no influence in the decision of these types of players. It's all about cup contenders and chances of winning. the cup.

Right, you just proved my point. So when Jagr looks at Ottawa, does he see cup contender this year? It'd have to be a wait and see thing to get a better idea of Ottawa's chances later in the season.

It's cool Kuba...it's an interesting rumour.

It could well work but we'd have to shed a fair amount of salary. Jagr could likely work well in small doses and would give us a 30-40 point guy, on the downside of course.

That said, I'm rather interested in whether one of our "D" gets moved. Other posters on adjacent websites are positing that Volch might be on the way out (!) due to his not re-signing and Murray perhaps not being able to meet his contract demands.

I'd rather see Lee go personally, and I'm a huge Lee booster...
