I'll take him on the Rangers and drop Rozsival in a heartbeat.

Please pick him up Sather, anything has to be better than Blowzsival at this point.

He should have stayed in Ottawa.

Who wants a guy with a big number who can't play.

The big question is what happened in San Jose and Ottawa, that he is so awful now?

Avs traded Smyth for Quincey then..

I'm happy with that... Quincey has been fire for the Avalanche.

well, since he's not even getting much PP time, he's been incredibly useless.

should be just dandy in the AHL though.

He got sick. There was actually a point in time where I heard that Los Angeles was quite high on the guy and didn't plan on trading him at the deadline like some of their other players. A few years ago I mean not last year. I heard it was vertigo but I'm not sure. Anyways I'm sure he'll get his career back on track. He's a relatively young enough guy. He's still in his physical prime for another 2-3 years.

In Ottawa he was paired with Corvo and played a lot on the PP. Corvo, who I believe is one of the most underrated d-men in the league, definitely helped Preissing in terms of his offense.

I wouldn't mind Preissing on the Sens if he was signed at the same salary he was making here in Ottawa, but at $2.45 million or whatever he makes, no thanks.

Right now his problem is that he's abnormally slow. I'd have to imagine a big reason is that he's coming off knee surgery, but still, he's fairly inept defensively.

Maybe he'll gain some leg strength in the AHL, but hopefully someone gets desperate and claims him.

He went from making 600k to $2.75 mil. He was never more than a bottom pairing D, and got inflated stats on Ottawa at least (his +/- was insane for us). He was always going to become extremely overpaid on his next contract.

Well, I think that's way too depreciating of Tom, who was a legitimately very good player with Ottawa (better than Corvo was that year, which isn't a knock against Joe).

So refresh my memory someone. If he gets claimed off of waivers is the team that claimed him responsible for his full salary as opposed to being claimed off re-entry waivers where they would be responsible for only half? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Regular waivers = claiming team paying 100% salary

The words Preissing and Physical should not be said in the same sentence.

Once he's in the A he's not counted towards the Avs cap anymore.
