Attn: James Dolan - Fire Glen Sather Now! (RALLY ON MARCH 7th)

It's over for this guy. Forget blamming the coach. Forget faulting the players or the system or the goalies or the assistant coaches or anything else. Glen Sather has to go RIGHT NOW. It is OVER for him. OVER. No one is the blame except him. Dolan, wake the F up!

dolan didn't fire isiah. unlike the knicks, the rangers have made the playoffs recently so absolutely no chance dolan fires him.

as much as an absolute joke sather is, dolan is bigger.

If only this would happen.... we are going to see a lot more 10-2 and 8-3 losses as long as he is around.

Sather is such a smug *******. He will sooner fire the coach than realize that he is the problem.

This team is horribly constructed. They can never be a Cup contender until the contracts of Drury, Redden, and Rozy expire.

Sather has the job until he resigns ('re zines').

Dolan didn't fire him when the team was missing the playoffs for 7 seasons.

Why would he be fired now.

And who would replace him?

Messier is in training. He isn't ready to take the whole thing on, yet.

I'd rather he sold the team to someone who will keep his nose out of the day to day operation of the team and who can hire a competent GM.

This thread should have been at the top of the page 24/7 for the last 8 years. Every one of the major issues this team dealt with throughout this decade of pathetic mediocrity is the result of Sather's actions.

No coach will ever win with a team constructed by Sather. This is not 1984, and Sather has been one of the worst at his position in all of sports for twenty years.

This team will never win a Stanley Cup with Glen Sather in charge. It's amazing how this team's supposedly passionate fanbase isn't in utter out rage, or hasn't been for years now, that this guy is still at the job.

Bingo. I think they put kool-aid in the $10 beers at MSG. A type of kool-aid that causes fans to not realize the real root of the teams lack of success.

I don't always agree with your posts, Sting, but you are spot on.

Some people get fed up with the constant complaining of Sather because it's a futile effort. But he is the one responsible for this mess. Although my opinion has zero affect on the direction of the team, I feel the need to vent about him every now and then. This team is frustrating to watch and has been for years, and a lot of it has to do with Sather.

If people have an issue with it, don't post in this thread. It's that simple. I'm sick of Sather's incompetence, but I know that there are some fans out there who continue to tolerate it. I don't want to anymore.

Exactly. Too many people frown upon passion around here and are content with the status quo.

James Dolan is the WORST owner in sports. Look at what it took for him to fire Isaiah Thomas, and you think a bad team will be enough to get him to fire Glen Sather?

Unless Slats is convicted of something horrible like child molestation or ****, he will be leaving on his own terms.

He definitely has to go though. This is another team blowing up in his face.

The NHL is a business.
Sather will never be fired unless this changes:
http://www.fromtherink.com/2008/10/3...tory-of-nhl-re

Either stop buying tickets/merchandise or shut up about incompetent management. (not directed at anyone in particular)

Dolan is up alright. He's busy counting his money. But really who else is to blame besides Dolan if he doesn't get it? US!!!!! The fans! If people stop buying tickets for an average to slightly below average hockey team, you'll see how quick Sather goes. Dolan doesn't care about hockey. But he does care about money.

So what was the deal with all the great GM's before Sather? Say, since the Esposito trade. The Rangers were dominant all those years as well. Not that I like Sather at all but maybe its been the higher administrations problem which has traded hands since the 70's.

Sather certainly deserves some of the blame but nobody foresaw the entire team sans Gabby and Prospal having career worst or below average seasons.

Not too excited about the future GM either... Wish Don Maloney was next instead.

you're right. The team has been around since 1926 and has a total of 4 Cups. Edmonton has won 5 Cups under Sather. Maybe 4 with Gretzky. And they're a post/post expansion team.

And wait. If it wasn't for Sather. We wouldn't of had Tom Renney. And we all know what Renney did. He took a country club org. and got them to the playoffs. I guess everyone has a bad year from time to time.
