Even though the Als were are Grey Cup rivals for several years there, I have to go with them. I just can't bring myself to cheer for the Riders.

I really like the Riders' head coach and a lot of their players. Still as an Eskimo fan, I don't think I could deal with Rider fans if they win their 2nd GC in 3 years. GO ALS!!!

The Riders are the CFL. Best fans ever. No contest.

Don't really care. I find it hard to get excited about a trophy when there are 8 teams in the whole league.

As a Rider's fan and long time resident of Saskatchewan I can tell you that the trophy is harder to obtain then you think.

You also probably find it hard to get excited about a football game that's played in front of you at a stadium instead of on an a TV and/or an X-Box. The CFL's the only option available for the many of us from Edmonton who can't afford to regularly go watch the Seahawks play in Seattle (the closest NFL city).

That's flawed logic. That is like saying that baseball fans should be obsessed with the Edmonton Capitals because there is no other readily available option. Personally I don't like the CFL because a team that finishes 8-10 should not have the chance to win the leagues championship.

The same can be said in the NFL. There are teams who get in with worse records than other teams that miss the playoffs.

Personally I have a little more of a history with the Eskimos and the CFL (6 home games missed in 39 seasons) than I do with the Caps and the Golden League (2 home games attended in 1 season). I like the NFL for gambling and watching on TV. I like the CFL (warts and all) for watching on TV, going to games in person and following my hometown team. That seems pretty logical to me.

True, but the NFL is a league with 32 teams and it's playoff format lends itself to that potential. (much like Major League Baseball) But I don't think there is any reason for a 8 team league to have 6 of the teams make the playoffs. And Toronto had to have a record of something like a 3-10 record to finally get eliminated from the playoffs. That is a joke.

It is kind of goofy. As a fan, I'd rather the see the playoffs involve the top 2 teams in each division. It would give the regular season some importance. Reduce 1 playoff round, 2 regular season games, and start a week earlier. Having the Grey Cup before the snow flies would increase the amount of beer I'd drink.

You are aware that the NHL had SIX teams for a 25 year stretch, no?

This.

The CFL is a joke of a league. It's a nice passtime, but in terms of a competitive, professional franchise, it's a laugh.

I can see the argument that it is a joke league because the talent is horrible. But to say it's a joke league because there is only 8 teams is a pretty bad argument.

So when Canada's hockey team plays in the olympics, I guess it must be a joke too because there are only about 8 teams.

I can never understand why people feel they must come in and bash the CFL when someone mentions it.
