Pre-game thread: Montreal @ Boston, Game 5

Montreal, the first team with their backs against the wall, I think they will pull this one out 3-1, and Theodore will finally steal a game.

Habs will lose,

Bruins will pull another cheapshot and since the referees are retarded won't get a penalty and score.

If Zednik and Ryder find a way to score, I think the habs will win. If not, well...

4-2 habs going back home for game 6

There are so many positive points for the Habs to build on since Game #2 of this serie, I think they'll come back strong with a win. I hope the forwards will manage to find some way to burst Raycroft's bubble, as he as outplayed Theodore in every 4 games thus far!

Canadiens 4
Bruins 3

It's highly doubtful that the B's want to have to head back to Montreal, especially for a Saturday night game. I'm hoping and praying the B's will simply put an end to this series tonight. No predictions on the score, however, but I suspect it'll be a pretty close one overall.

If the B's come out matching/surpassing the intensity that the Habs will no doubt bring into the game, the B's will come out on top.

As for the poster who mentioned cheap shots... Pot, meet kettle. The Habs give as good as they get, and it's a well-documented fact (at least in this series) that they have some great up and coming actors!

Bruins end it tonight on these facts:

1. They don't want to go back to Montreal.
2. Too much contraversy on the Montreal bench.
3. Boston is very poised and discliplined to win

Bruins win 3-0 .....hopefully no "actresses" on either side in this game and Raycroft gets the attention he deserves, since the real story his more about what is going on in front of both nets.

Wow - It only took 11 posts to bring officiating and "acting" into the pre-game thread.

Hopefully it's a good game

And only 3 posts to bring "cheapshotting" into it.

Agreed, however... good luck to both teams and hopefully it'll be an exciting game to watch.

he might "steal" one... But hey, don't count on me to bet my house on that! Odds are 1250 to 1 at Vegas!

Both teams have reason enough to play desperate hockey, which in itself, should make this another good one to watch (I have enjoyed the quality and competitiveness of this series).

Boston: Don't want to go back to Montreal, could use the rest to help some of their injured players, etc.

Montreal: Certain players have been underachieving and have something to prove, you lose tonight you are out so might as well give it all like there's no tomorrow, etc.

It will come down to which team wants it the most. I honestly believe both teams have the character to crank this game up a notch. As with the whole series, I see tonight's game won by the goalie du jour. The best one tonight will be the difference in the win/loss column. They both are capable of winning a game almost on their own, so which one will it be tonight?

Jose Theodore will have to respond in a big way for the habs tonight if there is going to be a game 6 in Montreal. This is a game that Theodore must outplay Raycroft in and the habs must be hungry to win

Ha! Interesting response by the Boston crowd for the anthem.

It was obviously sarcastic, but its better than booing. Still all this nonsense about the anthems is rediculous and has absolutely no place in any sport. It's a great tradition and to sully another countrie's anthem is plainly in horrible taste.

It wasnt sarcastic. It was a sincere response to thumb their nose at Montreal's fans who booed. It was out of respect, but more out of respect towards what the anthem means. And as Panger just said it was a sign to show Montreal fans what they did was unacceptable

were they cheering the anthem because of how much they respected Montreal, canada or the canadian team, No. [though im not implying they DONT respect said topics...] They cheered it to show that booing the anthem is a stupid tactic to "get at the visiting team" as some put it. And that the anthem has meaning, and shouldnt be used as a ploy to "get at" said team.
